Went through the same I do understand but probably nothing will satisfy you...owned Hx300 for a year...This Christmas bought an SX50 returned for SX60 found that the reach and quality of the HX 300 was completely satisfactory and with 50x lens did what I needed..
So with Christmas come and gone ordered a Panasonic ZS40....I do not need two 1200mm cameras I need a smaller pocket camera that gives good photos and will not cost both my arms and my legs and do some different things...Choose the ZS40 because it has a viewfinder which is a necessity in Flordia. don`t get frustrated find one Bridge camera and get to know it. For what it is worth I find the Sony HX300 gives me very good photos and is great on the trails. There will always be something newer or having buyer regrets will get really frustrating. Good Luck and Happy Holidays
Agree with the HX400.....but there are so many great cameras....go with what is comfortable for you....owned the HX300 for a year and on just what I post keep getting asked what I am shooting with.
Emerson point Manatee County,Florida
Robinson Preserve, Bradenton Florida guest center
Manatee River out to the Gulf
Also feel the SX50 is a good bridge camera...Have settled on the Sony HX300 between the two. Build seemed better and photos just seemed to be more to my likeing. You will enjoy either camera

My wife and kids are wonderful to put it mildly
Lucky enough to be able to choose one...Have my long lens so as a point and shoot http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1023338-REG/panasonic_lumix_dmc_zs40_digital_camera.html
With my family I am a lucky man
Just my 2 cents after owning both the SX50 and the SX60.Both cameras were returned...The 50 was returned because I have a HX300 and in my opinion having both cameras shooting the same photo at default setting found the HX300 shot more pleasing to my eye and the colors more vivid. The SX60`s build quality was not up to my standards...seem to have a slight rattle in the lens when extended.Mind you I am far from a pro but I know what I like in a photograph and know a well built camera when I use it..All of you on the blog/forum are a blessing to me.I wish the happest of holidays and send blessings and thanks for the help you gave unselfishly.
you all have a very happy holidays
the neighbor cannot it through his head that Flordia is the lighting capital of the US.....one of his teens decided to take his car (Firebird) for a drive....forgot to raise the Garage doors....it goes on and on.....maybe God willing he will move to the other side of the planet...Screw it the sawsall is coming out when all the cars are gone....the judge will have mercy on me when if I get a chance to tell my story
I have talked to my neighbor whom is a policeman. My neighbor on the other side has a long TV antenna and has been struck by lighting twice taking out everything that is plugged in including his air conditioner and all my cordless phones. He will not take the tv antenna down...I did talk to the policeman which told me not to take a sawsall to the antenna and said there is not a crime being an idiot
I am not going to apologise for a jerk. There is something deeply wroung with this gentleman.Look if you are happy with your equiptment that should be the end of it.As far as I know Canon and Nikon are BOTH great manufactuers and I would be happy with either.
Just enjoy what you have and just have fun....Have a great new year....Harry
