 Not when we're driving there. More like 82-84.

(West of Lincoln the traffic is usually pretty free flowing)

Jim, thank you for posting those. I formally lived in Marana where similar sunsets are almost a daily routine. Life had caused us to relocate to NE Penna. where gray skies are the norm, particularly at this time of the year. Your wonderful images evoke both fond memories and a yearning to someday return.

There is a lot of wisdom, history and knowledge in that post. The underlying sentiment though is summed up in my life by this simple rule, "buy cheap, buy twice (or more)"

yeah, I practice da grip!! First I feel good, then I shoot good!!!

Come on guys, this is all pure BS!!!!!

I fully understand the need to hold your camera steady. But you're NOT trying to put an object 3/8" in diameter through a 3" hole at 500 feet!!!!

But, we are trying to keep all our "pixels in a row". No overlapping, smeared or fuzzy ones. A steady hand with the camera, borrowing techniques from any discipline, is a primary requisite.
I have used a bean (sand) bag for both shooting a rifle and shooting pictures. Whatever works

Hey, if you keep your mouth closed and use two fingers...., absolutely!!!!!
BUT, as I'm proving right now, it's pretty hard for us Hogs to keep our mouths shut!!!

Yeah, I'm going to leave this conversation now as it's been pretty well picked over anyway.

I get it, you can also block your breathing at the same time.

What works for me is to hold my breath, then I simply turn my pacemaker off....., that way my heartbeat doesn't shake my wide angle lens!!
Off course I only get about 15 seconds to shoot before I pass out!!!!

Here's a tip I was taught when shooting a rifle but it works equally well (for me anyway) when I need to hold a camera steady for a shot. It's all about how to hold your breath. Most people breathe in and then hold their breath while taking the shot. But this means you are putting your rib muscles under strain and could cause a bit of trembling. Try filling your lungs then breathing out about a third of the way, then stop breathing out while you take the shot. I find this useful for those times when a tripod/monopod isn't being used.
Here's a tip I was taught when shooting a rifle bu... (show quote)

Add to that another shooting tip, squeeze the shot off. In other words don't stab at the shutter button.

Isn't that true of all current "Kodak" cameras? In fact, I'm guessing that the last cameras sold by Eastman Kodak were actually made by some unnamed Chinese company. Come to think of it, I wonder what unnamed Chinese company makes this for JK Imaging.

That's true. Like other famous names (RCA?) the name no longer means a thing. The brand name now for so many of the old respected products is nothing more than a marketing tool used by 'strangers'. For those who don't do their home work the brand name can entice them to buy an inferior product.

This is a Kodak "branded" camera and not really a product of the company. JK Imaging is building the camera and using the Kodak name (for a fee)

Do you have an old slide that you don't know why you're keeping? Punch out the film. Now you have a really light, fits in your pocket framing aid.
Want something lighter? Form a rectangle with your fingers.(they also fit in your pocket) :)
