Linda, I like 'em all! Good subjects, well composed, good range of tones, good stuff!

How far off are you? Is there a chance you could clone image material into the empty areas? I think you'd need to "build" about 5 inches onto the ends. The other option is of course to "take a little off the top". (My barber used to do that all the time, no need anymore:) )

A recent 60 Minutes on fake olive oil has expert tasters working for the Italian government able to detect virgin oil from adulterated.

Seems I have more interest in this forum than olive oil as I only read the linked article and chose to not pursue it further. :) In that article it said that gourmet tasters couldn't tell the difference.

Ahhh they say this about lipstick on a pig, and they used to say this about Gin... back when made in a bathtub. :) Ignoring the people who went blind because they used wood.

If it says Virgin Olive oil and it isn't, they are stealing, they should be treated as such.

I did have a caveat in there 'it's safe". If it's actually 2nd hand Rose but tastes right and gets the job done what the heck, there are much more important things in life to deal with or to put it simply, "it's not a fight worth choosing"

Interesting but, if the gourmet tasters can't tell the difference and the oil you bought is safe, does it really matter if it's not 100% virgin. Ignorance is bliss. :) :) :)

Beside being a nice set of photographs, since I will be in the area come summer they also serve as an inspiration! Thank you for posting them.

Nice photos. But, "gentle"? Don't get too close, they can suddenly develop a temper. Check out Youtube for examples.

INDEED! and they are a lot faster than you might think. Please be careful around them. For that matter any 'undomesticated' critter.

Nice shots though. The texture of the cows coat shows up quite well.

The battery cap on the D4 is removable from the battery and Nikon recommends putting it back on the camera when the battery is removed, for any reason, to keep debris and dust from entering the camera. Whenever I've sent a camera in for repair I always use a body cap for the same reason, Keep junk out of the camera. The body cap is always listed in the paper work as the battery cap/cover should have been. At 500+ for the repair this should have been inventoried, replaced and returned to the customer.
FWIW most people who know me would describe me as a Nikon "fanboy" but what's right is right and I would have been all over my rep if they did this to one of my customers

Battery door = ebay and China. although Nikon could have done a better job on this, the OP has contributed to his own situation.

Simple question, how did he contribute "to his own situation"? Beyond dropping the camera that is.

We all know how partial he is toward Nikkon.

As am I. In a former life I was a Canon,Nikon,Pentax and Kodak professional dealer(among others). I have owned and used Nikon equipment for over 40 years. However a screw up is just that. A screw up. As I posted previously I understand why those screw ups seem to be happening more now. Understanding them does mean they're ok but it does make the bitter pill a little bit easier to swallow.

Read his statement!

Unless you know nothing about the D4 or its battery. If that's the case, why are you even replying??

You sent a camera for repair with a battery included

If you're getting "long in the tooth" and are bit shaky you will welcome VR. I speak from experience. Just yesterday I did a comparison with VR on/off and although I used all the usual methods to insure I held the camera steady (lean against something, hold your breath squeeze the shutter button &etc.) the VR shots were better.

I understand but what about the time and postage going back and forth for what is most likely just a Nikon over inflated price of $30 or so

That's the part that usually goes unmentioned when people talk about the state of our economy. Not only are wages down and those who are fortunate enough to still be working, having to do so under increased pressures, but the quality of the end product suffers.
