There is little point in putting a lens like the Sigma 150-600 on a camera which does not have fine focus adjust. did you use the tap in console?

Really a bridge camera ..?? How long do you want to wait after you press the shutter before it takes the picture ?
In truth the original poster has given no idea of what he might photograph..holidays at one end or bird photography at the other and without that how can we advise..

100% serious ..this is why Canon have such a large market share ...cheap intro cameras and then you just upgrade and you are into that brand for ever. Unless the on/off is by the release I wont buy it .

I think the decision on brand is the most important you will ever make.. if you go one brand and then buy another lens , a flash gun or another camera you are into that brand for life.
Personally I would not go near Canon . The sensors are always smaller or lower pixels than Nikon ...what do people say ..every 3 years Canon brings out a 3 year old camera….I don't like the ergonomics particularly the on/off switch position- if you carnt work it with one hand its no good to me. You also have to consider the cost/availability of second hand lenses and accessories and here I think Nikon wins. Personally after 40 years and membership of the main professional bodies I would go with the best you can afford d3200 or D7100 and an 18-140 lens. Second hand and grey is not a problem. 4/3 no ..I got a Olympus M5 and I call it crapcam..the low light is just terrible.

Quote ….that just fools the eye.

Personally and I don't know if it applies to everyone but I use my eyes to view my pictures.

The whole content of this thread does make one wonder why anyone should use raw. Certainly as far as Nikon is concerned the raw processor NX-D is built into the camera and you have sharpness/contrast/etc controls also built into the camera. All I ever do is crop and on occasions adjust brightness for consistency but you can get Perfectly Clear to do that for you

Well I can only speak for Nikon D850/810/800/ 7200 etc) where I always use jpeg usually large basic but with sharpening at +10.
Supplying tens of thousands of images to customers I have never had a problem, can see no difference between fine and basic and am able on the rare occasions its necessary pull up exposure. With everything set how I like it ( Aperture mode F8 auto iso 200-6400 FP) I shoot thousands of shots without any chimping and never have a problem.

Why don't you shoot raw and jpeg BUT all cameras come from maker with jpeg image set soft so turn it up to max in the camera then you can compare your processed image with the in camera jpeg.
You don say what camera you are using.
