Thanks for the look ebbote. It is a great facility especially if you are there when they are releasing a hatch
The University of Florida has a Natural History Museum in Gainesville, part os which is a butterfly house. They do much research there and release new hatches frequently. Very interesting place and many great photo opportunities.

Thanks for the look and comment Tresed47. We got the blue birds the same day we put the house up and had 2-3 families for the past several years.
You worked hard to get it but the result is stunning. Great job!!
Thanks for looking Andrea.Jarrell,
Thanks angler, they are really fun to watch.
Thanks Ebbote, always appreciate your comments
We have these BlueBirds year round but they seem to get real feisty this time of year and into the summer. They get very territorial. We have a Blue Bird house in the rear garden and the male notices himself in our bedroom window and attacks what he thinks is a rival male. Really bangs on the window gets tired and rests in a nearby Hawthorne bush getting ready for the next onslaught. Caught him just right this morning.

I have the Nikkor 70-300 and just added a Kenko Pro 300 1.4 teleconverter, gives me more reach and I have gotten some good shots of migrating birds through my bedroom window. I have a pond to the rear between the house and the golf course. Recovering from shoulder surgery and can't go tromping through the fields yet.
I have a walking stick that double as a monopod. The knob on the handle unscrews and the threading fits my Nikon fitting.
I am using a Kenko Pro 300 1.4 with a Nikkor 70.-300 , AF-S lens and getting some pretty good shots, also use it with a 55-200- Nikkor. I bought it new at Adorama for $147.00 but you can pick one up for less used.
If you are driving, B&B's are the way to go. Did it several years ago , no reservations, and every one was a winner. Friendly local people who know where the sites are for good pictures. Just keep asking and you wont be disappointed. Be aware that the roads are not what you are used to. Narrow and not very well maintained, lots of pot holes in the more out pf the way spots. I blew a tire on the mountain road on the way to Dingle. Lot of sheep snd goats by the roadside that often wander on to the road or fall onto it. Just be careful and have a shutterbug's fantastic holiday
Thanks edge, these birds visit our pond just about every day. This one came up on our bank I shot the pix through the bedroom window.
Thanks eurobird, the bird is an anhinga, we call them snake birds because of their long necks which they hold out of the water when the swim. They can really catch fish.
The bird was fishing in the pond being my house, Caught this smallish cat fish, tried for about 10 minutes to get it turned the right way to swallow and avoid the fins and then found it was just to big to get down. Left it on the bank and w went looking for smaller one.
I think I'll Go Fishing
Gotcha
Too Darn Big Won't Go Down
Thanks for looking Don and you are right, most don't have a clue. I looked at your flickr site, great shots of the plantations and the Civil War re-enactments. My flickr name is marsdad.
