All beautiful. But these are Lotus blossoms.
I stand corrected. I blame it on my son who told me it was a Lilly pond.
Never know what you will find at the Lilly pond. Shot at the Indiana University Bloomington campus on a very overcast day. Higher ISO than desired and stretched the Sigma 28-250 to the max. C & C welcome.
Lucky to get this. Usually they dive when people get close.

Foreground is the last of the [Lilly] Lotus petals and the seed pod that develops after [Lilly] Lotus blooms. Background is a new [Lilly] Lotus bloom.

The closer I got the more worried I became that my last image would be of two doe hoofs in clear focus about one foot from the lens! I think I spent more time looking over my shoulders that I did looking ahead to get the images.
Re: the image with the tongue - even a blind chicken finds a kernal of corn every once in a while. Pure luck, but glad I caught it.
Thanks for the comments. I live in Bloomington, Indiana. Enjoy the four seasons quite a bit, especially the fall. I have to hustle to get my share of images of changing leaves.
Thank you for the compliments. I have seen this fawn many times, and it was always very skittish. This time I took a few shots from my car from a distance, and then got bold and got out of the car and approached this fawn slowly. Got to within about 30 feet or so. After about a minute it got up and trotted to its mother in the woods. Special moment.
Negative space; broad fields of solid color with color of bird as accent; and focus/depth of field experiment. C&C welcome

Finally had the camera AND a subject at the same time. C&C welcome.
Taken with Canon T3i with Sigma 18-250 f3.5-6.3 Macro. C&C welcome.
A little bit of experimenting with backlighting and DoF. C&C welcome.
I have been looking seriously at the 610. I have also been looking seriously a used 800. Any thoughts on this?
