How come no one ever talks about the Nikon 610 everyone seems to talk and ask questions about the7000 or 810. Is the 610 a good camera.

It is an excellent camera. Not sure why the lack of threads about it. Maybe the owners are out taking shots with it

I only have a D3200 to compare my D610 with since I am new to digital. The only complaint I have had so far is that I am still trying to figure all of it's features out. I am amazed with the quality and ability of my D610 every time I use her. I have not loved a camera this much since I bought my Nikon F when I was a kid. I know it's not 'the' camera for everyone, but so far, it is the right camera for me.

I have to agree with you on the price/performance ratio. I bought mine as a refurb from B&H to save even more money. I would still love to play with/own a D810, but for now, investing in glass and accessories is more important to me.

May be because it's a good camera. I don't see too many question regarding the D4 or D4s or Canon 1D series.

Excellent camera. Suffering the perception of the market as the "rushed to market" fix for the disaster that was the D600 (oil spots).

The dynamics of it's rollout and what people thought about it's ill timed entry into the market was likely very damaging.

The good news.... you can probably buy a great camera for a song.

The bad news.... resale with likely be difficult.

Excellent choice for a budget minded buyer who tends to keep what they buy for some time.

It would be interesting to see the street prices and the factory refurbished prices at this time??? :?:

I also have the D610 and love it. Yes, it is a great camera but seems to be billed as a fix to the D600. Then, when the D750 came out with a few more goodies for (at present) $500 more, it and the D810 are getting all of the attention. All are great cameras.

I just looked up what I paid for my refurb D610. I bought it on April 17, 2015 from B&H for $1,199.00 with free shipping.

Now, that seems like quite a deal on a FF camera that will take all the Nikon lenses you can attach to the front of it.

Just because you don't see anything mentioned on this forum about the D610, why would that make it not a very good camera? The D610 is a excellent camera. If you know what you want in a camera, read reviews on DSLR's and make your choice.

I was one of the lucky D600 buyers. A great camera that does all that I could ask of it. The 750 has a few more add ons that would be nice to have but that also aren't big enough of a deal to warrant an upgrade. For most of my work, web images and or smallish printed newsletter images, it has all of the resolution I'll ever need. I had a couple of 16 x 20 prints made from it's images that don't leave anything in the bag.
Get one, use it, enjoy it.

I think the only thing that can sway guys to go for the D750, is the superior autofocus and superior video performance.

Sensor wise.. they seem very alike.

I have a 610 and have had no problems with it. Excellent camera and the price is better now.
