All good pix but for me the first one is pretty scary. I have had some run ins with lightning and would have retreated well before the top of the pass.

I haven't been there for decades but I remember a crashed light plane just beyond Lake Dorothy. Is it still there?

If fact, I stopped to have a bite to eat and drink of water in front of the Fourth of July mine downhill from the pass and sat on a what I thought was a nice comfortable car seat. I wondered who had made the effort to haul it up there. I didn't realize at the time that it was from the crashed plane. When I got to the plane it was obvious that was the source of the seat.
