I don't know much about adding objects, etc to photos so I thought I would try another one today. I had a glass paperweight of the world and used a hand made light box to shoot it and then I added the moon and the eagle. Please give me some suggestions.. They would be greatly appreciated ( I don't care if anyone alters or adds their own photos to show different techniques)

Headed for 2012

Hello, I'm Jerry, 66yo and I have been taking photos since I was a teenager. I am semi retired from being a pilot for 35 years. During that time, I was a flight instructor and charter pilot before working as a pilot for three different corportions and flying throught the United States, Canada and Mexico. I have two grown daughters, one grandson and one granddaughter. Here is a photo of me that my wife of 41 years took of me this year while we was on vacation in Colorado.

Since this thread ha reached page 14, I wonder if anyone is reading it any more. But here is my entry anyway:

I am a 61-year-old (61 already? It doesn't feel like it) dentist with a wonderful wife of 32 years and two grown children. One works for Piedmont Airlines in Flagstaff, AZ, which has to be one of the most photogenic parts of the country. The other is a grad student in English at Hamline University in Saint Paul.

I live in Red Wing, MN and work in Saint Paul, where I operate a TMJ and sleep apnea dental practice. We treat headaches, facial pain, jaw locking and clicking, and most pain above the neck. We also make intraoral appliances that fit entirely inside the mouth as an alternative for people who snore and/or have sleep apnea and cannot or will not tolerate CPAP machines.

I suffered a serious eye injury a few years ago. Once some of my vision returned, I became re-interested in photography, as my images as viewed on my 24 inch monitor allow me to appreciate the world better than when I view it first-hand. I have to crop and level nearly every image I take, but Aperture allows me to do that easily.

UHh is great fun for me. I read it nearly every day on my commute, even though I have little time to make entries. I want to express a special thank-you to Nikonian for being a reliable source of accurate information and photographic inspiration.

This picture is dated.. I was in Athens in 1995 and this is actually the last photo I believe I had taken until my youngest son remarried his EX wife which is a story unto itself. My oldest son is 42 and the youngest one is 40. I have two grandsons which we spoil as much as we can. My husband of 45 years has had two strokes, can't talk too well but he can get around on his own which is a blessing. I am retired from Banking after a 27 year career and now I am working at Walmart which actually is fun!!!!!!!!!! LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( I had a bald eagle fly down in front of my car and he flew just a few feet ahead for several yards and finally decided to go back up toward a field. Never saw one before in the wild always wanted to though... it really made my day)

Just messing with white balance, cloning out the window, and cropping. I know I could have (should have) left more of the window on the right side so the hossys could be riding off into the sunset, but hey...it's late in the day and my peepers are gettin' tired. Happy trails~

You did a great job correcting the white balance!!! Thanks..

only one small nit to pick in otherwise outstanding edits. The "white" horse is stilll pale blue. I suspect improrper white balance is the culprit.

These were one of the first that I took with the Canon Rebel, and I just used the factory settings .. didn't even look at the settings, but I am learning more every day!!!!
