$1,800 - Nikon D850 Body with 2 Batteries and 120GB XQD & 128GB SD

Nikon D850 body in excellent condition - a very conservative 9 rating only because there are some rub marks at the bottom plate caused by the connection to the grip.

I sent it back to Nikon service just a week ago for a general cleaning and checkup. It came back not only checked out perfectly, but they also replaced the rubber grips on both sides of the camera (they had some minor rub marks on them). Nikon service for NPS members is unparalleled. See attached service checklist.

The camera (USA model) has only 14,844 shutter actuations. As you can see from the pictures, it is in excellent condition. It comes with the box, manuals, strap, battery charger, 2 Nikon batteries (original EN-EL15a and an EN-EL15b), a Sony 120GB XQD card and a Lexar UHS-II 128GB SD card. Both batteries showed to be "0" in camera's battery test, as in "New."

The LCD is clean as a whistle. I removed the protector screen to take pictures. You would want to install a new one if you buy this.

This is my backup camera, so it hasn't seen much use. I am changing systems and this is the last of my Nikon bodies/lenses (already sold a D5, a Z7 and two Z-50's and a gazillion lenses.

Priced to sell as with all my other sales on this forum. Check out my feedbacks.

Price includes insured shipping to lower 48 states and PayPal fee.

While I have money to burn and would not feel any pinch; unless I am depending on the 50mm to make coin... I'd rather buy an additional lens that brings something else to the table.

There is a resurgence of interest in 50mm, as it does offer a lot of bang for the buck. But as many others have said, for landscape I would prefer a 20mm, 24mm or 14-24mm zoom.

I had read somewhere about the beneficial aspects of using a 50mm lens for landscape photography. Recently, I tried my old Nikon FX 50/1.4D lens on a Nikon D850 to take a photo out of my bedroom window of an approaching storm. I was impressed with the results.

Doing some further reading, I learned that the SIGMA Art 50mm F/1.4 DG HSM is even a more superior lens to my old Nikon FX 50/1.4D lens. So, I’m tempted to get one to replace the old lens.

Has anyone had any experience with the SIGMA Art 50mm F/1.4 DG HSM lens, and is trading up worth it?

Thank you for your comments. Val

I have owned both of these lenses, as well as the Nikkor 50/1.4G.

The Sigma 50/1.4 Art lens has acquired a bit of a cult reputation because it is one of the sharpest 50mm lenses ever-made. People compared it to the Zeiss Otus, which costs a lot more. Even stopped down to F/8 - the so-called preferred landscape aperture - it is still markedly sharper than the Nikkor.

The D850 is a 45.7 MP camera, well-equipped to take full advantage of a lens such as the Sigma 50/1.4 Art. The lens will also focus faster than your 85/1.4D Nikkor. The downside is it is a much bulkier and heavier lens (28 vs. 8 oz.), compared to the D.

But as far as image quality, it is a remarkable lens. Folks will tell you why waste your money, or it's the photographer not the camera that makes good pictures. But I would argue that if one could afford a Ferrari, why drive a Hyundai? (Do note that I love my Hyundai Ioniq Electric car)

I have sold the grip for my D850, so these L-brackets are next.

The Leofoto L-bracket is for the D850 with grip. The other one is for the D850 without grip. Both fit my D850 perfectly.

$40 for both including PayPal fee and shipping to lower 48 states.

Great shot and a great lens! Long waiting list for the lens.

For those who are not familiar with Bosques Del Apache. It's in New Mexico, about 90 miles south of Albuquerque. The refuge is famous for its sandhill cranes.

I have SanDisk Extreme Pro CFexpress 128 GB card that I use in a ProGrade card reader to transfer still photos to my computer. When I get done and eject the reader and card, the card is hot. Not so hot as to be a problem to handle but considerably hotter than the SDXC cards I have used in the past. The CFexpress card is never hot coming from the camera (Canon R5) so it is not an issue with "camera overheating".
Not sure if this will affect the longivity of the card or not. Anyone else noting this?

I have the ProGrade and a Wise CFexpress card reader. The ProGrade runs noticeably hotter than the Wise. Having said that, I don't know if that's going to cause long-term problems or not, as lots of electronics get just as hot, if not hotter.

You might want to go on ebay and look for a used bracket. They are going for under $20 these days.

I am in the camp that believes the II versions look like a significant improvement. With the dual proceesors there are some immediate benefits, but the possibilities for important firmware updates should also be significant.

It's amazing how so many people are ready to bash the ZII cameras, before they are released.

Thank you, and CO, for at least pointing out the fallacies of some of the complaints, such as mixing up mechanical and electronic shutter performances, or comparing FPS between a 12 MPX D3 to a 45MPX Z7.

Take a breath, folks. The specs look pretty good so far, so let's wait and see how the AF performs etc...
