I have not. I looked and it a nice lens but I already have the 24-120mm. I was just asking out if the lens I already owned. I was thinking of taking the 20mm and the 70-200mm but the 70-200mm is a heavy lens. So I’ll probably take the 24-120mm.

I’m planning a trip to Cloudland Canyon this Friday and wanted to know which camera and lens you would take. The Nikon D7100 or the D850 and the lens are Nikkor 20mm Ai 3.5, Nikkor 24mm Ai 2.8, AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm F2.8G ED, AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm 1:2.8G ED, AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm F4 G ED. I only wanted to take two lens one prime and one zoom because of the weight. I will be hiking to the waterfalls. I want to take long exposure of the waterfalls and a few portraits of friends along the way.

I just received the same product from Amazon today. It was on sell yesterday. Have you use it? And how well did it work for you?

Flipper: Although your post was 8 years ago, I have to thank you. I have a Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 GII ED lens that I've had for a number of years. I recently went to use my lens, and the autofocus wouldn't work. I could focus manually, but no matter what settings I used, I couldn't get the autofocus to work. I tried cleaning the contacts and even tried using it on both my Nikon cameras, but no luck. I tried your method of moving the focus ring back and forth really quick 15 or so times, and voila, the autofocus worked! Damn! Saved me $2300 for a new one! THANK YOU!

So glad I found this post I had the same problem and did what you said now my Nikon 70-200 autofocus again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

PS I took the lens off the camera and turned the focus ring back and forth 15 time like stated in the the post and it works.

I agree. You can learn a lot from people on this website. Some times you just need to listen to what being said. I didn’t think he was being harsh at all.

Is there an easy method, that I have overlooked that can find duplicate photos on a I Mac?

I've been going from the oldest and the process is tedious.

I had the same problem and found this on the App Store. I bought the bundle that had photo sweeper and photo mill. if you need to rename your photos I would get the bundle.

If you are looking for a app other than Nikon I would try Cascable. It’s free to try but will not let you download raw files unless you pay. You can change almost all settings on your Nikon camera. I use it with the D850 and like like it but I think it’s iPhone iPad only app.

Anyone take the bait on this? Is it worth it, or just another way to spend money on Luminar...

I use it and I like it. But I’m not a professional photographer. The only thing I didn’t like about it is that you don’t get all the looks when you purchase. You have to wait and you get new looks every month instead of getting them all at once. You also get different lessons on photography every month, so if you’re new to landscape photography they offer a lot for the money you pay.

I just bought my first gimbal and I’m loving it. But it is just made for phones. I have a Nikon D850 to take photos but never take video with it. But I will tell you as a beginner with a gimbal the difference is between night and day. I’ve all ways enjoyed make short videos. I started out with a Panasonic VCR camera and used two VCR to edit with. Now I use a iPhone 12 with a DJI 4 using fiLMiC pro and to edit LumaFusion and it’s so much easier. Now you can do all most everything on a iPhone. I’ll be watching this thread for recommendation on a larger gimbal. But from what I’ve been reading the video produced with the D850 is not as easy as using a iPhone.

I set the download to full resolution. You can choose either 2Mb or full res. Obviously it will take a little longer to download and the transfer to Google Photos, but it is worth the small time difference

Good to know because I do the same but use iCloud and Amazon photos. I will look in the settings and change it to full. I never thought of that before. But it is a good idea. I do shoot raw but I can always take the one I want to edit and put them on my Mac.

I use Snapbridge all the time with my Z6 and found it to be reliable mostly using Bluetooth. When the images are download to my phone, they are also sent to Google photos for permanent archiving. Simple one-step way to transfer to Google Photos without taking out the XQD card or plugging the camera to a computer.

I can control the camera using it as a remote viewfinder and shutter release; very handy if the camera is on a tripod and I cannot stay by the camera.

That will work but you do realize they are not full resolution I think they are only 2 mb. I would still put them on my pc or Mac to upload to the cloud.

I use SnapBridge all the time on my D850 it works about the same as Cascable and app on Apple App Store. Both work great for me. I use it to transfer and mark locations on my on my photos. It also works great as a remote trigger to take long exposure.
I have it paired to my iPhone and iPad. All you do is select to which device you want to pair to when you turn on SnapBridge.
