...using my Tamron Macro lens to get the close ups and all taken in the comunal garden where we live in our retirement flat which as been reopoend for use again with the pendamic slow down but we still have to use the 2 metre distance and i was lucky today everyone must have stayed in their flats and watched their tellys.Some are of the Lilies some of our residents have planted and others are wild stuff i cant even name but it was a real peasure to get out with the camera and i've done my three months staying home even though i could go round the block where i live but there has'nt been much to photograph there

Continuing with the Machu Picchu series, I will share other photos of the place. Archeologist Hiram Bingham rediscovered Machu Picchu in 1911. Because it is located in an Amazon forest, the citadel was covered by it. To clean the entire place Hiram hired people from the area. The work was very hard and as always, time and money were limited. So, he decided to burn the place to speed up the work. That fire burned the wooden beams of the houses and the roofs, that is why we only see the stones of the buildings. An interesting thing is to note that the walls are double with mortar in the middle for climate protection. Another curiosity is that the walls of the houses are inclined as well as the doors are trapezoidal to support earthquakes (incredible technology).
