The gardens are just now allowing members back in to the gardens on a limited basis. Here are a few I took the other day during my visit.

Great set, like all of them.

This is one of our smaller birds weighing in at 10gms, .3oz. The first is a breeding male with the distinctive blue colouring. Next is a juvenile with adult. The adult could be a non-breeding male or a female, it's near impossible to tell. Next is a Red Backed Fairy Wren, the smallest of the wrens at 8gms, .25 oz.

Cute birds. Always enjoy seeing birds from other places.

I post a lot of raptor photos and I usually attempt to portray them in postures that reflect thier alert and capable predatory nature. With this set....not so much. In order please meet, Awkward, Frumpy, Confused, Sleep-grumpy, Disheveled and Surprisingly-inelegant!

Great series, like all their different moods!

When I arrived it did not look like it would be much, but it was a great ending.

Tried a few different approaches to get closer to the Hummingbirds. (About 6 feet). I used a wireless remote shutter release. Some images I took in manual focus and some in auto focus. The failure rate was about the same. The Chipmunk and the Song Sparrow are just byproducts of the session, and shot handheld in auto focus.

I like all of them.

Continuing with the Machu Picchu series, I will share other photos of the place. Archeologist Hiram Bingham rediscovered Machu Picchu in 1911. Because it is located in an Amazon forest, the citadel was covered by it. To clean the entire place Hiram hired people from the area. The work was very hard and as always, time and money were limited. So, he decided to burn the place to speed up the work. That fire burned the wooden beams of the houses and the roofs, that is why we only see the stones of the buildings. An interesting thing is to note that the walls are double with mortar in the middle for climate protection. Another curiosity is that the walls of the houses are inclined as well as the doors are trapezoidal to support earthquakes (incredible technology).
Shots one and two are at the beginning of the tour, the others are different shots inside the citadel

I am out and about everyday. I practice social distancing, I wear a mask when close to others and am careful around everyone. My job is considered essential.

Good ones! I always like to see the old barns.
