Thanks for sharing, looks like everyone had a good time. By the way, in picture number five the proper name for that bird is the 'New York City Eagle'. They may look harmless but beware!

Thanks Bmac, Everyone had a Blast!!! It was my neices first time into the city. The "New York City Eagle" was not phased by anyone walking around him, he just kind of was part of the surroundings.

taken at the Oracle shopping centre in Reading. Processed in photomatrix the contrast then adjusted a little in Faststone image viewer as couldn't be bothered to wait for CS3 to load!

really appreciate any comments, good, bad but not rude.

Love the photo especially the reflection on the water. Hope to get into some PP this year starting with photomatix.

Nice shot, but looks a tad bit out of focus

Maybe the reflection of the water is catching your eye

You may be right or it may be my monitor, it's a brilliant shot either way.

I knew the couple that planted these two trees. They've both have been gone for about 18-20 years. They were both in their 90's, and had been married for 62 years. The trees sit on a small hill close to the center of the small farm of about 90 acres. Mr. S inherited the farm from his father, who had inherited in from his father. It's been in this family since the 1850's. The current owner is retired and lets another farmer plant about 2 crops a year on about 25 acres. The remainder of the acreage is growing back into scrub brush. The current owner has two grown children who have absolutely zero interest in continuing the farm, or even ownership. This will be the last generation. Progress and development has moved to within 1/4 of mile.

Very Sad Story. It puzzles me sometimes why siblings will not carry on a family interest. I would give my left you know what to have something like that. If progress does impinge on that land, they leave those two trees in place.

Marty, The pic is great from the foreground snow mound, to the mountains in the back ground.

whew! Glad someone asked that..lol.....that way Ill sit in the corner and watch for the answer to what in the world is HDR....and then pretend i knew what it was all along! hehehe....

laskalass, HDR= High Dynamic Range. Usually involves 3-9 bracketed pics, although some people have used just one pic. The pics are merged together using an HDR program such as Photomatix, which then if needed touched up in another program such as Lightroom. Check out www.stuckincustoms.com

Hope this helps

There are allot of places in Seattle to take photos, and by many accounts I would bet that most on here have seen them. These are a few that I have taken that, as far as I know, are atypical, and I wanted to see what you all think of them.

Please as usual, feel free to critique, or redo as I love to see others take on things.

Steve did you use a Red filter for the B&W alley shot?

I purchased a Giottos Schott Glass protector for my Canon T1i, I think I paid about $35.00 for it. It is about the same thickness as a credit card. Before that I just used the protector that came with the camera.

I hope you plan to get a print of the photo. Truly spectacular, the color on the hillside is awesome.
