Was trying to get pic of the sun coming up with the clouds and pretty pinks/oranges. In my rearview mirrow, I saw this scene, and had to change direction. It was much more spectacular than the one in front of me. (at least I felt it was...grin)

If you were planning this pic, you might have waited for hours, maybe days to get that light on the hills just right.

Yes, I agree about waiting for it to just happen. It was pure luck to be in the right spot at the perfect time. I was on my way to work, and stopped to get the sun. SO glad I looked in my mirror. Probably never happen again for me...lol. So I'll take it when I can get it.

I had a similar experience last month. When I looked in my rear view mirror I saw a spectacular scene. I, too, was able to get the shot. It's one of my favorite photos.
