My wife has had the surgery for cataracts and opted for the upgraded lens. It improved both her near and far vision. The insurance would only pay for either a near or a far vision lens. If you can, upgrade to the better lens. You won’t be sorry. She was in surgery for less than an hour and we were on the way back home in 2. Good luck and speedy recovery.

I’ll second that, I opted for the multi focal lenses, (again insurance did net pay for them), best decision I made. Can see both distance and near 20/20. Only thing is when doing precision work you must have good lighting.

I notice no one mentioned what a breeze the surgery was. If you need the surgery get it done, it is a simple no pain op. Afterwards I noticed our lampshades I thought were beige turned out to be white. Makes a huge difference on night driving...

Amazing difference! At first, I thought my eye sight was just getting bad, it affected me mostly when snowboarding. My eyes are very sensitive and tear if there is the slightest bit of wind, so I was constantly lifting my goggles to see the terrain of the snow. Finally one day I was out with my wife in a parking garage and I had to ask her were the exit sign was. She yelled and said if I can not see it I should not be driving and I was to go to the eye doctor immediately. Well I held off a couple of more months till I had o sop driving a night. Finally dr. Says I have cataracts and they were very ripe. I opted for the multi-focal lenses and it was awesome! After the first I was done I noticed the wall was white, as I thought it was before. But when I looked through the bad eye it looked manilla colored. I can now see distance and read as well no glasses needed. Great experience, and couldn’t be less painless. Only discomfort was for the first couple of weeks sunlight bothered me and I had to wear sunglasses.

The consensus seems to be the Epson V600. Going to give it a shot. Thank you.

Ok, since everyone is asking what I would like to scan.
Mostly photos that were taken with both 35mm and 2.25 format.
Sizes from 3x5 to 8x10.

What scanner you recommend?
The printers that come with scanners, do not seem to cut it.
Also, does anyone recommend any particular software for scanning?

Same with the items coming out of the machine. They want me to “step over here” or whatever, I explain that I need to watch my possessions. If they insist on my moving somewhere, I never turn my head away from my items coming out of the machine.

How do get around this. I have had times where they put my bag through the machine several times, and keep carrying it around the back of the counter, while screaming for me to move forward!

There seems to be different rules at different airports and they change week to week. Sometimes TSA acts like I should know their procedures even when they were different at the same airport the previous month. Seattle is usually my worst experience anywhere in the world; for some reason my best experiences were in several airports in China a few years ago. Just an observation, I am no China fan.

China, has some of the strictest security, however somehow seem to keep it all together and it runs exceptionally smooth! Note: the agents at China’s security are both competent and they actually ALL work. Unlike in the US. It reminds me of the old joke, where the road crew gets to the job site, but there are no shovels and they are all looking at each other trying to figure out what to do? The supervisors says to them “lean on each other until I can get the shovels here.”

They should at least have a high school degree! And if they do, I feel real sorry for the schools they graduated from. I have had them brake more items right in front of me than you can believe. It is amazing how the TSA in their countries runs so much smoother than here in the US.

The lens was damaged and never worked properly because some stupid (and most really are stupid) TSA agent took the camera out of the suitcase, got the lens off, and then couldn't properly mount the lens. The agent some how got it jammed onto the body and the lens never worked properly again. My carry on is a lap top, and a camera bag with the camera over my shoulder.

100% AGREE...they should at least be high school graduates, and if they are I feel real sorry for the schools they went to. I have had the brake more items right in front of me than you can believe. It is amazing how the TSA in their countries runs so much smoother than here in the US.

I travel quite frequently, never asked to remove my camera nor my Lense. I have not been asked to cover the batteries, but have heard this to be an issue and try to put one in the camera and the rest of them in checked baggage. In fact other than camera and lenses I put everything else in my checked bag. I Remove my iPad and/or laptop ( whichever one I am traveling with at the time). Remember, these they are just doing there job, and may not be finished with their training. If you ever get the opportunity to travel to China, Japan, Israel and a few others, their version of TSA is SO MUCH more efficient and faster than ours as their all of people actually work. Here as with it’s like a road crew in the US, you have one or two annoyed (that they have to actually work) employees doing their job.

Virginia City is an old mining town not very far away. It was a great old charm picture taking area last time I was there.

Oh- Sometimes Keystone is a good thing. It gives dynamic lines to tall modern structures. Theses are not architecturally correct but they make for nice advertising shots and annual report covers. I hope this helps! [/quote]

What book is the excerpt from that is shown in the pictures?

Thank you, I was looking at them, however they have several models. Which one do you have, and does it hold your phone securely?

Has it ever occurred to many of you so called photographers that you really are a bunch of amateurs with way to much equipment and thoughts of how much better you are than others. For Popeyes sake, someone asks a question and many of you get 9n your high and mighty horse. I see it on here so many times

That is why I rarely post, every time something is asked or mentioned there is this peanut gallery out there condemning them!!! All I did in was ask a simple question, then the first response started with the third degree!
