Great shot. Could you please describe the lighting used. I have a black and a tuxedo. Lighting is always a challenge.

I use a sling backpack with a chest strap. Rides on the back and easily rotates to the front with side access to the camera. Amazon basics makes a nice one for a great price. Haven't tried it in a horse but it works great for hiking.

I am happy to see you have only posted a few times here. That is good, keep your opinions to a minimum.

I would offer you the same suggestion.

I gave him the number to Nikon, toll free number, and info on who to ask for. What advice did you offer? I have no anger, nothing but help to offer, unlike many others on this site.

Really, nothing but help. 'You're a legend in your own mind, blah, blah, blah. The advice I would offer is not to judge the group by you.

Considering on how you took care of the scratch on the rear element of your lens, I believe you have the knowledge and skill to do anything you THINK you can.
You are a legend in your own mind. Good luck, and blah blah blah.
PS. Nikon's number is 1-800-645-6687.

Why do you feel you have to be an ass to someone who made a mistake and is asking for help. I f you're not going to help, just shut up and keep your anger to yourself.

Hi Sharon,
Welcome to the forum. I was in your position not too long ago. The best advice I've seen on this post is to go and get your hands on several cameras and feel what's best for you.
I finally decided on the D5600 with the 18-140 and the 70-300vr. Honestly, the 18-140 rairly comes off of the camera. It's a great lens. I love the reticulating screen and the light weight of the D5600. It just fits my hands better. Only you can make the decision based on your needs.
If you do go with the 70-300 get the VR version.
Good luck with your search and have fun with your process.

Hello HH'ers,
I am going with the wife for a little R&R to Branson, MO in two weeks and hope you will all make suggestions as to where to go in the area (120 mile diameter) to photograph.

Hi Gilkar,
There area many great photo ops within your range. Southern Missouri is a beautiful place to visit. Many lakes and clear streams. I suggest you get a guide to The Ozarks, the region not just Lake Ozarks. There are dozens of choices depending on what you want. We are currently staying at Pomme de Terre lake which is probably at your travel limit. The more undeveloped areas of Table Rock Lake are close to Branson and nice. I'll attach a couple of snapshot from my phone. Haven't downloaded from the Nikon yet.
You probably still have time to contact Missouri Department of Conservation and have them mail you some information. Ask for the Missouri outdoors map. Hope this helps.

Looks like it has a bum leg, but seems healthy otherwise. Great opportunity and great shot.

When young people make light of the "old" folks, I remind them those old folks were once more bad ass than they will ever hope to be. Thanks to all veterans for letting us live free.

Looking to upgrade from a D50 and Nikon rep recommding D5600. I do like the weight difference though I am interested in a “next level” camera. Any experience, thoughts, recommendations?

Thanks!

I purchased a D5600 last year and really like it. I went for a kit with the 18-140 VR and the 70-300 VR. Honestly, the 18-140 rairly come off the camera. I love it. Not the fastest lens but the 5600 is very forgiving with higher ISO. One of the things that helped my decision was the size/weight of it and the way it fit my hand (a bit arthritic). You've been given lots of good advice but in the end it's your choice to make. If you can, go to a store and handle a few of them before you decide. Good luck with your search.

Okay. Still learning how to do this. I was attaching files and lost them by being inpatient.

It takes forever to attach.

I can see how 5 seconds would blow out your foreground. I just had a field. I must confess though. The many single bloom shots were at 4 or 5 seconds. The finally shots were 1/2 second. I was going from memory and lately that's not a good idea from a year ago. Bad case of CRS. Honestly I was thrilled at how they came out. I got a lot of keepers considering the last time I shot fireworks was in the 70s. Thanks for viewing and commenting. These are SOOC with a little cropping on a few.

These are great! I like that your 5 second or more shots have many fireworks going off.

Thanks for the kind words. I read some suggestions on UHH before trying it. Played around in the beginning. 1st time since the 70s. I was happy with the results.
