If you still want to try and get the SX50 fixed, you might try KEH. Because they deal in used cameras and lenses, they often have parts that can be used for repairs. They just fixed a "grey market" Tamron zoom that no one else would touch. Or you might find a quality used camera.
Any suggestions for sites for free stock photos? A search brings up many advertising "free" until you dig into them. Thanks in advance!
Don't know if this applies, but when I first looked for jpegs they did not appear after loading into LR. I needed to go into "preferences" > General. Click on box : "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos".
Did the other fellow take the film? If not, I would be interested.

Been using AI Clear for quite awhile now and have been very pleased! I believe, the "artificial intelligence", however that works, puts it in a class of it's own. A big improvement over the traditional de-noise and sharpening methods found in Adobe.
I have been running a Macbook Pro, mid 2012 (last year you can upgrade) with a 27" external monitor for several years now. Pick one up on eBay for around $600. Very dependable and plenty to meet your current needs. That said, I recently bought a PC, 32GB Ram, etc. because I found Topaz Studio was bogging down my Mac. About $1200.
With 120 lumens as a goal, my calibration requires a brightness control of 36 (out of 100) on Dell monitor. Lower ambient room light with drapes, shades.
Consider bracketing for maximum dynamic range
Did you by any chance use AI Clear on the "After" shots?
Attended a club meeting last evening with speaker, Matt kloskowski. Matt is well known and highly respected by many. He started by saying that the LR "develop panel" functions exactly the same as ACR. He then spent an hour or so editing various photos with nothing other then the radial and gradient tools and the adjustment brush (dodging and burning, for the most part). Impressive results! Did go into PS to remove a couple of objects, etc.
Found a work around for greyed out menus in PS. preferences>general> check box for "Disable the Home Screen".
MB Pro- mid 2012 (last upgradable Macs) $400-500 on ebay. If not already upgraded, add SSD for about $150 and 16 GB's of Ram for same. Beginner external monitor for about $150. External HD's $100. I use this setup for pretty heavy editing with LR, PS, Topaz, Luminar, etc.
Beautiful shot! I too, believe the focus would have been better if on the foreground flowers. Also would consider cropping some of the bottom flowers from the bottom up, effectively moving the road into the lower third.
