I just bought the Canon SX50 which has the 50x zoom because being on a fixed income now that I'm retired, I couldn't afford the lenses for another one. I also have the 30x, they both take very good pics.

Wish I was with you, I love Alaska, I was there in 1962 with the Army for about 3mo. I was in Ankorage, Ft. Greely and Tannacross in a tent, -63 below wind chill but I loved it.
That would make a perfect Christmas card.
