Thinking in buying a Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR 18MP Camera, I am a amature photographer do you think I should, need some advice..
With so little information, only you can decide if you should. Please do a Google search for Canon T3i reviews, do some reading, then come back with any questions.
I see in your profile you're enrolled in NYIP. What's their opinion about what camera you should learn on?
What DSLR are you currently using?
It's a very very good camera. Go ahead. Upon buying, read manual carefully.
I don't own a DSLR as of yet, I previously owned a Fujifilm 14MP 30x OpticalZoom Digital Camera but it got stolen then I purchased a Canon PowerShot SX500 IS 16MP 30X Zoom Digital Camera and had it for about 3 months now but then I saw the Olympus SZ-31 MR 16MP 24x Long Zoom Digital Camera on QVC and fell in love and because I couldn't afford a DSLR yet I bouth this ones. I am having fun with both cameras and still learning how to use them, but hopefully as soon I start my learning with NYIP I will learn what kind of camera I should buy. I had the Olympus for about 3 days, but I'm am having fun with it.

From what I understand, the Canon EOS Rebel T3i is a decent camera. I hope that you are not over-reaching your requirements, at this time.
I have one and I am very happy with it!!!!

Rosa, before spending money on a dSLR, my suggestion would be, that you learn to use what you already have: the Olympus SZ-31 MR. Most, if not all, you learn with that camera will be transferable to other cameras - especially the basics of exposure, f/stop and ISO (the famous "triangle").
I had a quick look at a couple of reviews - this seems a very good camera with a lot of possibilities.
Read through the manual that came with your camera so that you have a general impression of what it can do.
Then follow up in two ways: Flip through the manual till you find something that you'd like to learn, and learn it.
Come back here with questions if you have problems with that item (Give camera model and manual page number with your question, makes it easier to "see" what you mean).
The second way: If you read something somewhere that you'd like to try, go back to the manual, find what it says and learn it. Again, come back here with questions if needed, giving the bracketed info above.
I am not familiar with your camera, but am willing to help with anything that can be found in the manual.

I agree with Esther. 100% of basic photography knowledge can be learned, using your P&S. You have plenty of time to "grow" into a DSLR.

I, too, agree with Esther. You will be learning about photography, not about Canon cameras. Unless changing lenses is a requirement of the course (and I'm sure it isn't), you're all set with what you have.
Before you spend substantial money on a DSLR, learn photography and then carefully decide exactly what you want to get and where you want to get it.
Join a camera club in your area, like MeetUp.com. Good way to meet fellow photographers, see their equipment, ask questions, and hold various camera & lens combos. I belong to six(6) different Meet-Up camera groups, so I have a choice of outings each weekends.

Good idea. My meetup area is dry of photo clubs.
Get the T3i, it's a great camera and can do pretty much everything you would need to do to get started. And you can learn alot about cameras & settings by getting a good book. Canon T3i for Dummies is one I have & highly recommend.
I agree with Ester. Also when you decide to buy a new camera you need to put in your hands and see how it feels.
