I made a vow last spring to ditch the heavy Nikon gear and go with Olympus OMD 10 Mark IV. It came with the little 14-42 EZ lens and after upgrading to an iPhone 13 pro, I made the decision to stick with these 2 cameras (and no extra lenses) for at least a year and concentrate more on composition. I love the little Olympus and I may add one prime lens eventually to that kit but for the moment the little kit lens does a very nice job for me. My iPhone is always with me and I have to say the camera is really good….especially in night mode. I loved my Nikon stuff. I really did but had begun to feel like it really owned me instead of the other way around. I feel free now and photography has become fun again. Happy New Year to you all!! Shannon
I went to Gettysburg a couple of months ago with a friend. I took my Nikon z50, 2 z lenses and three other lenses with the FTZ adapter. It wore me out…not only carrying it all around but trying to decide which lens to use over and over. Meanwhile my friend was happily snapping away on an iPhone and got some great photos. The third day, I left all my gear in the hotel and just used my iPhone (12 pro) and had a blast. I started rethinking everything after that because honestly this hobby that I love was not fun on that trip. It was a burden. I’m a hobbyist, self taught, not brilliant but wanting to take really good memorable photos of, well, whatever catches my eye. Just saying I would take only one lens didn’t work because I would second-guess myself and just spin my proverbial wheels around my lack of knowledge and indecisiveness. So I sold ALL my Nikon gear. Planned to just use my phone. That lasted a few weeks but the other part of my dilemma is that I simply love having a camera. A dedicated camera. Enter, the Olympus OMD 10 Mark IV with the 14-42 EZ kit lens. I LOVE this little camera. I can take it everywhere with me. It is feature-rich (including IBIS). Maybe at some point I will decide to add another lens but, for now, the one lens I have does everything I want. I am having fun working more on composition and learning the camera. Sometimes you just need a hard reset I guess. I’m using my phone camera more too because I’ve finally realized how capable it is. I don’t want to be a person buried under camera gear anymore. I just want to be a good photographer. I have a friend who uses nothing but her iPhone camera and gets spectacular results. She has a really good eye.
Thank you all for your kind comments. I just started using this Olympus OMD 10 IV camera after lugging around a lot of heavy Nikon gear for years. I’m having so much fun with it! 😁

Carriage drivers are a small world of devoted enthusiasts. We also have extensive bit collections, lol.
I know where you were!
You do? Awesome place. Really nice people. I am from Aiken, SC but in NC now. I rode hunters and jumpers for many, many years….then went on to show my family’s Basset Hounds for many years (after a knee injury forced me to stop showing horses). My granddaughter is a college student in Aiken and she rides, but also works for a small farm involved in competitive carriage driving. She loves it. They are in Southern Pines fairly frequently so I always go see her. Plus it gives me a chance to be with horses. I miss them so much. It is an amazing bit collection!

LOVE number two. Beautiful still life! It's great in download too! Excellent!
Thanks. That whole place is like that. There were 10 photos inside every one photo I took. Incredible.
That dog is half Basset Hound and half Aussie Shepherd. His name is Furry and he is a work of art.
Love the Tetons. I grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming. Well done!
