I mentioned this some time ago after another posting of Duesies ... while a college student my Dad had the dubious distinction of totaling one way back in the days when Duesenbergs were still being made. As he summed it up, "I'm sure glad it wasn't mine." The owner, a prince who was a foreign exchange student, simply bought another one.

AI is just another medium, like painting, sculpture, photography, etc. Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. were also once in this state of limbo. If we look at AI as photo-related why not just add another section to the forum so, like Birds, those interested can browse and the others can skip. Incidentally, I think we should have sections for Insects and for Flowers for the same reason. And I also think that images should always be posted in their appropriate section.

I think there should be a separate section for flowers just as there is for birds

I don't know if you re into this stuff, but Cedar Point is supposed to be a great amusement park. Haven't been there myself (I live on the west coast), but many people I know loved it.

If its no longer imported parts and repairs will probably be difficult to get. Based on my experience with a different car facing this issue, I'd pass on buying this. And $23,000 is much too much for a discontinued car.

Your R7 is an APS cropped sensor, so that is the first factor to consider. If you are planning to go full-frame, look at FF lenses; otherwise save weight and money by sticking to APS. Your 70-100 is equivalent to 112 - 160 FF, and fast shutter speed can become quite important, especially at the longer end. So I would choose that focal length if moving to a 2.8. On then other hand, you might want the extra bokeh of 2.8 if using the wider lens for flowers, etc.

Since your interest is amateur sports (and from your description I will assume grade school, high school and small college with smaller spectator seating) my suggestions, based on my experience doing these, are limited to that. Start with choosing lenses which are the real key to it; lens differences are usually greater than camera differences. My go-to lens for most of these venues is a Sigma 50-100 f/1.8. It is great for fast action and poor light. Although it is an APC lens, it has enough coverage to nearly fill a full frame with an EF to FE adapter, so with only a little cropping in post you will have good shots. It's on the heavier side, but I find there is little opportunity to move around much at these venues, so you can kinda sit back and shoot from a good vantage point. I also have a longer lens when necessary, and I keep each lens on a separate body -- sports don't give you time to change lenses. Lots of second/longer lenses ton choose from, but the 50-100 f/1.8 is so fast for its coverage that I find it a God-send.

Someone answered "ignore the advice and follow your heart." I'd use the advice, including what I gave earlier, as background, nothing more, and play with the options at a good camera store (assuming there still is one where you live).

If you go Sony I recommend the A7c because you want lighter weight. I use mine more often than the heavier Sonys. Also, you can get an adapter and use your Nikkor 18-300 as well as a Sony 24-105. Another good option for even lighter weight is a Canon RP or the newer R8.
