I posted about this a few weeks back. I found it on Petapixel and included the link. Admin moved it to the Links section as it was found to be inappropriate for Main Photography section and posting a link was not allowed. I thought it was interesting and would provoke some comments and discussion. YNY

Thank you all for your comments. I made sure to write down or photo information so I could label photos. The museum is small but well kept. It is all indoors. Free parking. The displays are well arranged given the space available and the explanatory signs offer quite detailed information. There was enough light for most of my photos but I was using low shutter speed and VR. There was only one where I had to adjust shadows, brightness or contrast. I will go back and try to take some that include more of overall layout. The not too far away Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park in Buffalo NY has a few additional aircraft as well as a cruiser, destroyer and submarine. It is on the waterfront and there are many other outdoor activities in that area. YNY.

I visited the Niagara Aerospace Museum located in the old terminal of the Niagara Falls International Airport. It is next to the old Bell Aerospace plant and Calspan. The collection includes airplanes, helicopters, examples of engines and rotor assemblies and other items. The collection centers around the Curtiss and Bell aviation industries. The museum has a website you can Google. They accommodate school groups and the curators are very well informed about the items in the collection and aviation in general. I post a few pictures here of some items in the collection. They do not have an X-1.
I am not sure if all the EXIF data will show. I can only see some items. I used Nikon D7200 with Nikkor 16-80mm f2.8-4 lens. I used mainly aperture priority f8, shutter speed down to 1/30th. VR on. Auto ISO to 3200. No flash or tripod. Thanks for looking. Comments or critiques welcomed. YNY.

When viewing or changing menu settings in my camera with the cap off I have noticed that it keeps changing the exposure settings in the LED as I move camera around. If I adjust the menu with the lens cap on it tries to find an exposure at a very high ISO. I have read that prolonged exposure to very low light values / high ISO can damage the sensor by overheating it or the pixels. I would have thought using the menu would turn off the sensor. Is leaving the lens cap on while viewing or adjusting the menu damaging to the camera? At the risk of starting a "cap on" vs. "cap off" war should I always take the cap off while viewing or adjusting the menu? Thank you, YNY.

Mexican mathematicians/physicists publish equations for resolving spherical aberration (soft in the corners) issues with lenses. Article on PetaPixel here:

Wonderful but I am amazed at how many people are more interested in videoing it and themselves on their mobile devices rather than listening and watching how all the musicians come together, little by little, to create this. I do not think one can really pay attention to what is happening when you are focused on what is on a little screen.

Is this photo for real? ... or was it Photoshop-ed? ... or the car suspended by hidden cables?
The expressions on the parents faces lead me to think that it was staged in some way.
If it is real, the father is rather stupid for risking life and limb of his children.

It is not real. The photo is labeled in the lower left "made with mematic." YNY.

Thank you all for your helpful comments. Shooting without dialing in compensation seems to work just fine for most situations. YNY.

I have read on various photography related sites that I have dial in either (+) compensation, (-) compensation or no compensation for a circular polarizer on a camera with TTL metering. Some sources say compensation is needed only if using external or hand held light meter (which I understand), or if using TTL camera in manual mode. Some sites make no mention of metering method. In my case the equipment is Nikon D7200 and B&W X-S Pro Kaesemann HT MRC Nano (1 to 1.5 stops).
Is there a general rule to start off with on whether compensation is needed with TTL metering in manual or other modes?
Thank you, YNY.

Do you HAVE such a number, ALX?

From my past experiences - it'd seem Ricoh is only interested in supporting its OWN products, NOT Pentax!

I think Ricoh owns Pentax. Maybe that is why the call came from Ricoh?

I have been using an "Echo Dot" from Amazon. Connected to my WiFi for signal and hard wired to

100's of stations to listen to. Signal is eceptionaly clean. Doc T.

I too love classical. If you are not familiar with WNED-FM 94.5 in Buffalo NY please check it out. Classical music 24/7.
