disable peripheral illumination correction and it will fix your problem.

Isn't the Lens Hood (shade) meant to reduce or avoid lens flare? Maybe when lens flare is not an issue it doesn't matter if its stored but its handy and readily available.

Dear Ugly hedgehoggers,

Thank you for the many, many very imaginative captions.

I think I have more than enough, so till my next opportunity to shoot something where I need an equally impressive collection of captions I will say we can kindly stop.

Have a wonderful day!

Paul

The one posted has no post processing. The one I am submitting has bren dehazed given a little punch and sharpening using presets I have in Lightroom, just as you suggested, many thanks.

Slightly better composition compared to the earlier post. Many thanks for the suggested captions.

It's hard to remember, it was quite awhile ago. I was using a Olympus MU 1020 10 megapixel Point & Shoot camera lens 6.6 to 46.2 mm, f/3.5 to 5.3 (equivalent to 37 to 260 mm on a 35 mm camera) , the best P&S I could get back in 2008. Also my inexperience too, perhaps I could have done a panorama. Always easy in hindsight but it looks okay and hopefully will cut it for their 2020 calendar. I got into the 2019 calendar with the following shot, the subject was "fruit". Any thoughts on a caption for the Mountain scene?

I need an imaginative caption for the photgraph of these peaks reflected in Bow Lake Alberta, Canada. It maybe selected for a corporate calendar where the subject is "mountain". All suggestions will be very welcome.

I own a 5D Mk IV too and several L series lens. My local photography retailer discouraged me from moving to the "R". He was of the opinion that the Mk IV was a better camera. Perhaps the best reason is the new lens system. Reviews are very positive about these new lens and seem to outperform the EF lens and is perhaps a more compelling reason to move once the "Pro" version comes out in the next couple of years. In the meantime, I bought a M50 so I could get used to a Mirrorless camera and invested in both an EF to M adapter and also a Focal Reducer/Speed Booster so I could get an almost FF Field of View with my EF lens on the M50 with the bonus one stop of EV. My advice is hold off and then dive in replacing your key EF lens once you have evaluated the "Pro" R Body before you replace your 5D Mk IV. By the way I am not a Pro photographer just an enthusiast so its not so critical that I change.

One other option is a Reversing Lens Adapter. Here's a link that explains how it works.

Leverage the current lens you own.

I too have many in my family only using smart phones for taking photos, I feel primarily because they are readily available and easy to share on social networks and image quality is quite good for viewing on Tablets and Smartphones. I feel the mainstream camera manufacturers are trying hard to make their cameras more seamless in integrating with phones to transfer images but could bring some of the software smarts the phones have to their DSLR & Mirrorless cameras to encourge more "smartphone photographers" to migrate to more creative photography. I do feel slightly self concious when lugging my mighty 5DMkIV around but feel a snob, definitely no!

I wear prescription sunglasses and have lost a few when I've swapped for my regular multi-focal spectacles while out and about. I solved the problem by using a string so it hangs round my neck when I don't need it. Do the same for your regular spectacles. I can use the viewfinder without my spectacles if I adjust the diopter suitabley but then I need my glasses to look at the LCD to check my shot (Perhaps I shouldn't!). DPReview Forum discussion may help.

Here's something that may be adapted and attached to a rolling case.

Lugging long lens is difficult at the best of times. The lens need to be readily accessible from the bag.

I think this a great idea, hope you come up with something.
