As a retired employee of a major carrier for 34 yrs I do have that privilege of flying stand-by....but I never do....I pay, and sometimes its first class when its an necessity to fly. When I worked I loved standing by it gave me the opportunity to see the world and I wouldn't of have that opportunity if I was paying out of my pocket! I was poor then. There was always a dress code for employees/family...I remember suit/tie for males and nylon and heels/or flats for females....ugh...and no jeans! That was then .... I travel with my cameras and laptop it helps if you invest in TSA bypass or fly an airline that has "Pre Approved" status. which means don't take off shoes, leave tap top in bag, etc. Less aggravating.

I have a 105 lb. St Bernard named Sasha she has Lyme disease for two years....for the past year I 've had her on Bravecto a pill taken orally every 90 days what a pleasure no ticks at all! And is the very safest for your animal....My vet has her on Lyme Formula thats given for a month, her weight she gets 3/4 TBSP twice daily(but she doesn't like it in her food) soooo I fill at least 10-12 capsules a day(approx 300 for one month). Her first reading from blood drawn was 24,000...not good after one month on Lyme formula went down to 11,000.....today is the day we do another blood test since I had her on another month of Lyme formula(every 2 months with Lyme formula).

We live in the middle of 100 acres and walk our property and hunt often. We use a spray that contains "permethrin", to be sprayed on clothing ONLY, not skin! It works......I buy it by the case because it usually sells out by the fall....both my husband and I have had ticks on us and have been tested several times. Our Doc is an expert on Lyme disease.....and fortunatly neither one of us has Lyme disease....Yeah!

hope this helps

On my D200 I used Nikon 20-200 2.8 VR....if I turned on the "VR" and removed the lens the mirror would lock up.....to resolve it I turned it VR off (the off switch on lens) and removed the lens and the mirror did not lock up....I did refer to the "destructions" and it did mention to do that....hope this helps

I love the "big Critter", there is a Bison(Tatonka) farm nearby and when I get out of 2 1/2 ft of snow I want to shot some of them!

Just being a "newbie" since 14th of Feb I can be very honest, to say I'm intimadated 'cause of my question is not really "high tech" enough for some people, and I'm not as knowledgeable on camera/Mac so I'll read anything I can to learn and maybe ask a question some day....but thanks to the people who really care and are not condescending with their explanations. I agree with Tracy B and doc 9900.

Never give up my Macs...had a problem on my 3 yr old Mac Book Pro 17" and while visiting dad in Florida I stopped in the Galaria in Ft Lauderdale and the Genius'did a data migration....and upgraded to Sierra, version 10.12.2, the track pad entered at will all the time...anyway that was the good news...thats when I bought my new Nikon D810 and realized the CD-rom would not work with my NEW 10.12.2,,,,many emails between Nikon and B&H....in a nut shell Nikon said we're working on it.....but don t use View NX-i,Nikon Transfer 2 to transfer images, viewNX 2,ETC. Not compatible with macOS Sierra version 10.12.1 or later . Anyway I looking into another tyle of software thats compatible for my photos....not employed, retired, photo for myself and family and friends.

I've always received great assistance from Mac when I had a problem it was usually my lack of experience or DSL(pain in the A__)..my old Dell is now just a gamer....period.

I really enjoy everyone's input, I'm still learning, thanks to all!!!!

I went from Dell to MAC 6 years ago..first bought a "Big Mac"(27"), then Mac Book Pro 17"(Little Mac) then bought my husband the 131/2" Mac Book(Baby Mac)and a "wee Mac" and haven't had any problems, except for my tolerance of a learning curve. I do think you can teach an old dog new tricks! And I'm just an amateur photographer that shoots for fun....(Nikon D100,D200,D810).....next is adding an easy photoshop, Lightroom, etc

CaptainC, My father will be 95 yrs young March 21, 2017(I'll be joining him to celebrate)..He is a retired commercial pilot(Allegheny, USAir, USAirways) and the longest MEC chairman in aviation history, so far. He flew the Berlin Airlift and this past July was hospitalized and attending nurse was Russian decent and praised him as she was in the fields when he flew over with "goodies", and said he is a "Living Legacy"...I teared up on that one..he's safe and sound in John Knox Village in Florida. He sleeps well, stays up 'til 11pm and gets up about 9-10am...I sleep on the couch with ear plugs(for shooting) and night mask...spooling up jets made him almost deaf I think. He also went to Berlin for the celebration of all the people involved in the Berlin Airlift, he went twice and met several other mechanics, co-pilots, captains etc from all over and really enjoyed himself. Its nice to hear of other "pilots" life.

Thanks, Cookie
