I'm looking for some company that prints coasters in quantity, on both dolomite and thirsty stone. thirstystone.com appears to be out of business no one will answer the phone.

I have learned that my D850 does all I need it to do. It may not be 30 fps but I do fine with BIF. Why not just use a video camera instead of a DSLR if you want max frames per second? Eventually, we will get to the point where we just set the camera on a tripod and come back later. That ain't fun.

The D850 can shoot at 30 frames/sec.

I own a D850. I don't believe that there is any camera in their lineup that is better for landscapes and family related photos. The IQ is stunning. On the other hand, if your goal is BIF or other action photos, the faster frame rates of their mirrorless cameras (especially the Z9) offer some advantages. Also, the D850 is woefully inadequate for video. Unless you use fixed focus, it continuously hunts when following moving subjects. The contrast detection focus with the mirror up just sucks. The fact that you can't use a viewfinder when taking video means holding the camera away from your body to see the scene you're filming, and I have found this to be less stable than using a camera or camcorder with a viewfinder that is held to your face with your arms braced against your body. This is what being stuck in 2017 means.

I have shot videos of high school basketball games and focusing is manual easy. Use a tripod to stabilize the camera so you can see the LCD. In the LCD it will show the area in focus. If you are focused to close turn the focus ring clockwise to move focus back or farther away.

I see a lot of truly outstanding photos on this site that were taken RAW and then post processed. I tried taking a few RAW and right out of the camera they pretty mundane. I don’t have photoshop, so of course I can’t doctor them up properly.

I guess my question is, you that post process, do you shoot all of your shots as RAW, or just those you think have potential for something better? I ask because last evening my daughter, two grandsons and I took an evening walk. She and I both had cameras and together (including one of the boys) we shot nearly 400 jpeg images. Yes I trash canned a bunch, but the amount of time I would have spent post processing RAWs would have been enormous. Any responses?

I almost always shoot both RAW and JPG although I rarely use the JPG the exception is when I shoot school sports for the local newspaper then it's just JPG.
The RAW files always make better images but they must be edited, this is intentional.
The JPG images are better than RAW for viewing on the computer to decide which image to edit.

:) I assumed that since this was UHH, others would assume I mean camera shoot; however, since recent discussions have strayed off as so far as to cover microwaves, I could see why you would have that question

The reason I open this thread was to find out if it was shotguns or cameras.

I have a Pixma Pro 10 it uses pigment ink, 9 inks and a clear coat. It can print on 13" x 19" paper, maximum width 14".
It lists for $700 but can usually be found on sale for about 50% off.

I have several photo prints that I wish to have restored by digital scanning and enhancement. I know there are software apps that do this, but these prints are very precious to me and I want the very best result that I can get, so I want this done by professionals.

Have any of you used a professional company for this ? If so, I would appreciate any referral to a specific company. (please remember… I don’t have any interest in doing this myself… I want a professional lab to do this… thanks !)

Thanks for the input. The Z-50 is a cropped camera . The 100-400 would give me 600. Do you think that this lens would be a sufficient?

Shooting an FX lens on a DX camera will not make the subject any larger. You just won't have to crop out as much of the image.

I see that you have plenty of answers already so I'll keep this short. I shoot with a D850 and with an ISO of 25,600 I can get good jpg's but the raw image is very noisy.
