I use both. They seem to be about equal in transfer time as long as they are both using the same USB port of 2.0. When bringing them into USB 3.0 from a USB 3.0 card reader or cable, the cable seems to slightly faster. I have tested these with RAW 29 MB files bringing in from 50 to 300 files.

I don't think you gain much when comparing.

She has a tracking color on.

Another fun and good photo. Mt. Evans is camera heaven and you record it well. Not many people get to see goats up close. Have you been to the bristlecone area about 2,000 ft. lower? You just want to hug the poor trees as they show their struggle for survival.

Super shot. When did you go up there? We tried earlier in late June and it was still closed to vehicles due to snow. We went up Rollins Pass and it was closed at Yankee Doodle Lake due to deep snow, on July 26. It looked like a Subaru convention at the lake. I love the Brainard Lake area, used to backpack over Pawnee pass and come back Buccanon Pass. You were really lucky with that moose, great shot.

You can get a lot more than what is shown when in Colorado. At my place, above FairPlay, we get such clear night skies that you need a flashlight just to navigate outside. We are dead center in the state at 10,600 ft. I am not into night sky photography, but I do enjoy just viewing the stars without the city lights intrusion. And we have many more like this throughout the state, except the areas that have been overrun by transplants who bring their big city culture with them.

Larry, as always, you have pleased me. Another great photo. What you might try is a stack of 7 layers, all the same settings, just different times (like 3 seconds apart). Then stack 2, then 3, then 4, etc and check those results. You might even come out with the same results. I just don't live close to any falls. I want to try this technique the next time I get close to some falls.

a-yup, daughter moved out of the house 3 years ago, still hopeful she'll move out of our checkbook soon.....
I like others was on my own at 18, different times now...........back then I could support myself on my wages, todays kids? not so much

The one percenters won't rest till they own ALL the politicians and thus ALL the wealth

I don't blame anyone, politicians included, for my good or poor choices of education or of jobs (I could have blamed Clinton when he killed the astrospace industry), my misfortunes or poor pay. I make my own way and if I need more education, I get it. My student loans were used for nothing but school, not partying or buying no education related things. Cannot blame time or anyone. I am the ant, not the grasshopper. Time to cut the apron strings and let them become responsible for their own choices.

That goat photo is stunning Bill, how did you achieve that black background?

I changed the photo to B&W, then deselected some color on the sliders, and then played with the "Blend Mode" until most of it came out like you see. Then did the rest with "Clone" tool to complete the black background. Sometimes even a blind squirrel gets lucky.

Sounds like great kids who were well-raised. Our granddaughter who got married Saturday ran her own wedding, paid for a local caterer and a local judge, and her wedding was more like a small family reunion with a wedding ceremony in the middle. She and her new husband just bought a business together a few months ago and could see no sense in running up thousands in debt. Our family doesn't stand much on ceremony, anyway, and I applaud their outlook on life. A good time was had by all.

Sounds like you did a great job of parenting, your kid raised a good one. You have a lot to be proud of.

We have 4 kids, all over 40. We gave them a choice that we would pay for one, college or wedding. They all picked college and all have a minimum of a masters, one with a vet degree. We let them flounder with their own finances and amazing enough, they are still functioning without needing our assistance. Sometimes higher education and tough love pay off, but that also comes from good guidance of being a parent and not a buddy. None have any student debt to pay (we ate a lot of beans during their higher education). Now we spend a lot of good times with them.

Just got a video from our daughter who was at the auction for the rabbits. The three New Zealand Blacks sold for ........ $1,500.00!!!!! I guess the Grand Champion label and the fact that granddaughter was the smallest contestant made the bidding go 3 sigma. Grandson sold his pig (259 lbs) for $2,100!! Their additions to their college funds have started.

Not too proud, only have about 10K photos of them. Also had another grandson showing his hogs at Colorado county fair. He placed 5th which is really good for his first time.

Visited the grandkids in Wheatland, WY, and watched them present their animals and ride their horses. Granddaughter won Grand Champion in horse riding and her New Zealand rabbits, and Reserve Grand Champion in dog agility. There were some very hot and long days during all this competition. She is 8 and her brother is 6.

The pic of the rodeo queen racing her horse came out with a lot of noise but I still like the pic. Added the goat, thought the view was interesting.

One of the many goats.
