It is beautiful and serene. And it certainly makes life a bit hard when you have to get out in it! Maybe that snowmobile is not such a bad idea!

My mother has been gone for 13 years. I remember when we first had a TV. We were allowed to watch very little TV. She said pretty much the same things about it. It certainly did not hurt us not to have it in our face all the time. My son is now 35. I was rather broke while raising him. We had a rusty antenna. We could get / channels. He also watched very little TV. He preferred to be outside. Still does.
So there you have two generations raised pretty much without TV. We survived just fine.

I, for one , love your jokes. In a world where so much is bad, we need all the fun we can get. Your jokes make my day a brighter place. I would say I feel sorry for people like Swede but I have come to realize that people like him take great joy in being mean and grouchy.

I like the first one. You can tell she is listening to you and closely observing you by the way her head is tilted!😊

I really like this! I have yet to sit down and learn about how to change backgrounds. I guess it’s something to look forward to in retirement. You’ve done a beautiful job here.

We have them here in Tennessee. They like to stay on the ground at the edge of the woods.
Their color is quite unique and beautiful. One of my favorite.

My farm dogs quickly learn not to mess with skunks. They only need to be sprayed once. Unfortunately, we have to contend with that once per dog.
They still bark at them.... from a distance.

My head tells me this is a part of the circle of life, but my heart hurts anyway. I agree with you that animals have feelings. True story, many years ago I had a pet house skunk. The skunk shared a room with 2 flight cages of finches. She always slept under a footstool. One morning, we woke up and discovered her curled up in a ball in the middle of the room. Couldn't figure out what was wrong. A few minutes later, I discovered one of our finches dead in the cage. Mystery solved. Our skunk had never slept in the middle of the room before or after that occurrence. Animals have a sixth sense as well as feelings.

You are very right. I see this type of behavior in wildlife especially.
I am glad though you discovered skunks! They are the only North American wild mammal, that when raised in captivity will not revert to wild. They are clean, intelligent, interactive and very protective of their people and home.

You’ve got sunsets, silhouettes, hummers and daisies. Add in kids having fun outdoors and you’ve covered many of my favorites. Beautiful pictures.
