Before digital we were collectors and manipulators of chemicals which had reacted to light!

Weird thoughts come to old people with too much time on their hands.

Should we continue to call ourselves photographers? Photographers record analog images on film, process and print the images creating photographs and if you are a professional sell these little pieces of reality as a source of income. I suggest that we have become collectors and manipulators of electrons. For many, if not most of us, the great majority of our electron collections remain just that--electrons. I sent my last roll of film in for processing and what did I get back, a link to a web site so I could retrieve my electron collections. I have begun thinking of my images stored on my computer as Electron Collections and the prints stored in my photo albums and files as pictures. Electron collections only become images when they are viewed or printed.

Before I change my mind I am going to send this and see what happens

I get a feel for anything that's got any mileage in it. That said i usually only delete stuff that just isn't worth keeping for whatever reason.

Like the man said 'If it sounds too good to be true it probably is'. Who could possibly afford to sell genuine gear at such prices? They might as well give it away. You've been had my friend!

Electric Wharf is on the Coventry Canal, opened 1769, built mainly to convey coal into Coventry from various mines to the north of the city. The wharf is the site of the first electricity power station in Coventry, opened c 1896. The plant was coal-fired, fuel being delivered to the wharf by narrow boats on the canal. Close by was the Motor Mills building, Sandy Lane, the first motor car factory in Britain, considered to be the birthplace of the British car industry. A consortium of companies, associated with a rather disreputable character, Harry Lawson, made cars on the site. The first British Daimler car was made here in 1897 and the Motor Mills later became the Daimler Motor Company. Motor Mills was previously a cotton mill known as the Widdrington Cotton Mill, named after the Rev Widdrington who was instrumental in establishing it in order to relieve unemployment amongst former silk weavers, the silk weaving industry having collapsed in Coventry. The nearby Widdrington Road is also named after him. The mill later burnt down and was rebuilt by the insurers but the owners declined to continue the trade and it remained empty before being taken over as a car factory. The mill was also served by a siding from the Coventry - Nuneaton line of the London and North Western Railway. During WW1 Daimler manufactured aircraft on the site; they flew from the nearby Radford Aerodrome. The site was bombed in WW2 and the Daimler Power House and the company offices (now called Harp Place and used by Coventry Council for adult education purposes), both built c 1907, are the only remnants of the Motor Mills.

It doesn't matter how fast the claimed read/write speed of the memory card is. The deciding factor is how fast your camera can write to it. Generally rather slower.

About to be turned into a 50's style boutique hotel. In the meantime leased short-term by Historic Coventry and used as a pop-up gallery.

Very expensive for a bridge camera; however it is undoubtedly good. Have you considered the Panasonic FZ2500? She who must be obeyed should have the final say!

OM to mft converters are very cheap but you will have to set aperture and focus manually as there will be no electronic linkage.

I am packing up to move and came upon an old Olympus lens that I don't know what to do with. It is an Olympus OM-System Zuiko Auto-T 300 mm 1:4.5. I don't have an Olympus camera and don't expect to. Should I dump it or try to sell it? Advice appreciated.
