Could you walk me through viewing this in a black background in UHH? I would like to try that. Thanks, Matt

If you are in the area it is worthwhile to visit the Stanley Park aquarium in Vancouver, BC. I know there have been several shots like this before but it is still fun to hang around the tanks until the jellyfish position themselves just right. Nikon D90 set to Vivid color saturation on purpose and -0.7 exp comp.

Just north of San Antonio. Large cathedral rooms and narrow passage ways. It's like seeing nature paint in 3D.

Well, it's that time of year again when we experience transition storms as the seasons change. Caught this shot on my way home from work. Developing storm over City Hall in Stoughton, Wisconsin.

After visiting Zabriskie Point the evening before, I took note of where the angle of the sun would be the next morning. I arose early while my wife still slept. A bit of solitude since I was the only one out there that morning.

Challenges will exist. Consider the environmental impact of recycling millions of car batteries in the no-too-distant future. Perhaps oil will be diverted to power plants to produce enough electricity when everyone plugs in.

Always liked raccoons. Looks like you got two males (tan color) and one female (grey color). Scientific (Latin) name is Procyon lotor which translated means something like "food washer". Raccoons need to do that since they have no saliva glands. I had a pet female one back in the 70s. Sterling North's book "Rascal" is a delightful story of a boy with his pet raccoon growing in a small Midwestern town. Thanks for sharing these pics.

Another way to tell Sharp-Shinned Hawks is that their tails are more squared off with a distinctive V notch in the center when they are in full flight mode. Hard to tell from this take-off pic but this appears more rounded and thus a Cooper's. In addition, Sharpie's legs are thinner (thus the name). This is a mature bird since juveniles have blue eyes. Some of the old haggards have blood red eyes.

Flamingos are highly elusive. Glad you were able to capture one.

The wheel on the Mill is on the western side so wait until later in the afternoon. I'm thinking a winter scene could be awesome. I just don't know if the water is frozen over now with all this crazy weather we've been having.

I learned about Hyde Mill from another photography group I belong to on Facebook called Wisconsin Photographers (about 7300 members). It is only about an hour from my house so naturally I had to go check it out. So then, without answering your question with another question, does this answer suffice? - ha!

Curious to know what the group thinks- portrait or landscape? Of course other feedback always welcome. Old Hyde Mill near Ridgeway, Wisconsin. Taken last Fall.

The fog was clearing and this image presented itself. These colorful boats gave a sense of beauty amidst otherwise poor living conditions in Nepal.
