Thanks for sharing your cute pic of those dear deer, Joe ...

So, effectively, then - that's handheld at 600mm (FF equiv.) - right?

Yes that 600 mm FF equivalent.

Longest lens I have is a Lumix 100-300 zoom on Lumix G7 micro four thirds camera. Here's a pic at the Bronx Zoo with lens set at 300mm, f/5.6, 1/200 sec., ISO 3200

You must have shot it with a wide angle lens up close. Best to back up and use a moderate telephoto, like 85-135. Your lines will be straighter the longer you go.

Digital cameras put everything is 1/3 stops, but if you know the fundamental numbers above, the rest all falls into place.

If you bought it within the last 30 days, you should be able to return it. Then you will have more time to decide.

Best suggestion so far. Yes return the Canon and just take your time. Sometimes we consumers get all caught up the in hype and excitement of a new product introduction and that "gotta have the best and latest" mentality that we loose sight of why we purchase certain items in the first place. After the excitement wanes you'll be able to make a more rational decision.

Both are excellent top tier cameras. However I sense a bit of buyer's remorse here so my suggestion for your piece of mind is to return the Canon if possible and get the Nikon. The last thing you need after spending this much is having sleepless nights thinking "I should have, could have".

The only caveat: If video is important or you take a lot of video, stick with the Canon.

Why didn't Kaepernick & others comes out with specific issues and have constructive suggestions for addressing these issues. Instead they come across as whining pre-pubescent spoiled toddlers. The freedom of speech issue is BS. This is about acceptable behavior in the workplace. And the reason most players go along is peer pressure and fear of being ostracised by others. By the way Pittsburgh Steeler Alejandro Villanueva ALONE decided to go out of the dugout and stand on the field during the national anthem. He's an Army Ranger who served three tours in Afghanistan. By signing with the NFL these players agreed to abide with the rules. One of the rules is:

"The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses."

Today I just got fired from my job because during a staff meeting with the VP I decided to take a knee instead of sitting down like the others because of certain issues I personally would have liked to address ! ;)

Forgot to mention: It does single image processing as well as batch processing also, which is what I think you're looking for.

Changing the pitch won't change the fact that a turntable made for 50hz power will be turning 20% faster at 60hz. It will still sound weird regardless of the pitch.

At the zero point of the pitch control (more accurately it is a rotational speed adjustment control) the 50 Hz TT will be turning faster than the 33-1/3 or 45 rpm speed. As James Slick had mentioned you hope that the 50 Hz turntable's pitch control adjustment range is wide enough to bring the speed to the industry standard. If that can be done the the TT will sound just like any properly adjusted TT. It will not sound weird.

The only problem I think is that the strobe light that is used by the user to properly adjust the speed is dependent on the input power frequency. If that's the case you then cannot use the TT strobe to properly adjust the rotational speed. You could use an external strobe or do it by ear. But if the TT strobe control is independent of the input power frequency then you'll be able to use the strobe to properly adjust the TT speed.

Another factor - will there be detrimental effects of powering a 50 Hz TT with 60 Hz power? Maybe someone can answer this. I know with batteries it might not be a big issue but with motors might it cause some issues?
