The El Nino doesn't reach into your area.

Bullsh*t! It does! Right now the Pacific Northwest, which includes the southwestern part of British Columbia is under a heat dome. Our temperature yesterday at 3:00PM was 91 degrees F. The temperature today is forecast to be equal to or higher than yesterday and we are forecast to have similar temperatures for the rest of this week. Typical daytime temperatures for this area at this time of year are 15-20 degrees F lower than what we have been and expect to experience for the next 7-10 days.

Farmers deal with the El Niño-La Nina every year so it’s no big news to us. The expected cold-hot and wet-dry weather trends may or may not affect crop yields. Sometimes a single rain or the lack of makes the difference between bumper crops or crop failure.

And the article talking about April global temperatures being above average, apparently they ignored the Midwest and upper Midwest this April. We had some really cold-assed temps, so I guess those aren’t figured in when they are looking for above average temperatures. We would have 1-2 above average temp days followed by 4-6 days of way below average. As for climate change, the nino Nina thing always has been, or at least in human history.

I was about to agree with your argument (first paragraph) until I read your second paragraph. They didn't miss or ignore the Midwest and upper Midwest ths April, because the article is talking about GLOBAL average temperatures! So what temperatures were experienced in April in the Midwest because of the relative size of the Midwest compared to the rest of the Global area is inconsequential to what was experienced in the Global area, which means the rest of the world, and the rest of the world is so much more than just the USA!

Yes. Because royalty is suppressive, and LBGT is expressive.

Which royalty are you referring, British Royalty? If so, how so? Or, are you saying ALL royalty is suppressive? Are you referring to royalty of past centuries or royalty of the 21st century?

Agreed, too bad that is not the reality in most countries, including but not limited to the USA.

It amazes me how many here want to know how this directly affects me and why it should even matter to me." Well, to attempt to address that issue, I've lived my entire life under the creed that "All Men are Created Equal" and have seen great strides in this concept over my lifetime, but there is still work to do. Frankly, the whole concept of "Royalty" flies in the face of this creed and the fact that it is so celebrated and revered simply baffles me and promotes a complete reversal of this concept that I do indeed find somewhat offensive. Honestly, I think too many folks here don't understand the difference between acceptance and approval. I accept that the British have the right to their royals, but I darn sure don't approve and in my opinion for good reason! Is seeing this sort of a discrepancy and posting for other's opinions about it really such a bad thing? If you think so, than at least in my opinion your the one with the problem. Think about it!

You are entitled to your opinion and I honour your right to your own opinion. However, the British Monarchy does not require your approval, nor does it seek your approval. The Brits to do not approve of your form of government as their form of government has been tested for at least 1000 years. When the American Republican form of government has been tested for 1000 years, then you can trot out your approval rating.

Exactly! None of anybody's business but the Brits and to a lesser extent the business of the remaining Commonwealth Nations!

Is it just me or does the idea of "Royalty" rub others wrong as well? How is it that in today's world of political correctness and e******y for all can someone's birthright provide such wealth, privilege, respect, and loyalty? These folks are just human and the need for royalty has long since expired in today's world. It simply amazes me that they make such a fuss over all this and wonder why the whole concept hasn't been completely rejected by the common folk at least in a so called democratic society. Anyway, it's much ado about nothing in my opinion and I actually find it to be rather offensive as well. I would be interested in other's opinions about it here.

You say you would be interested in other's opinions about it, okay here is my opinion. I find your tradition of gaudy political campaigns outrages with the money spent to hoodwink the common v**er into believing one person (the President) has the power to make a country great again! But I will give you one greatness of America: over 200 mass shootings in less than 128 days. That is a record to be proud of! Just my opinion of course.

Correct. The AK47 was the weapon of choice of the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War and we all know how that war turned out.

I was wondering how and where they get automatic weapons like those. And is there a reason so many people carry guns with them everywhere do they feel threatened?
Bruce.

Ethiopia has been fighting a civil war for over two years! Tens of thousands killed and millions displaced from their homes, now living in refugee camps. The country is a political mess, like several other countries I could list.

They are, specifically the Russian designed AK 47, or anyone of its many derivatives. Possibly the most widely used shoulder weapon in the world.

Totally agree with you. Would like to visit Sicily again, but most if not all of our travels since 2014 have been focused on East African countries and South Africa in particular where we support the African Elephant Research Unit.

Hope the egg on your tie did not ruin the tie! Have you been to Sicily? Terrific food! People are very stoic, remind me of the Scots.

The OP stated "Mt. Edna from A far Sicily Italy". So I don't know what you were querying - unless, e.g., you think there are more than one Mt Everests in the Himalayas - or more than one Mt St Helens? With or without it's top?
Lighten up friend

Ok, I’ll spell it out for you. There is no Mount “EDNA” in Sicily! There Is a Mount ETNA in Sicily! It would seem the OP either cannot spell or does not know the correct spelling of the mountain’s name!

The OP stated “Mount Edna” in both his title and description, so as I am not an expert on mountains in Sicily, I queried the posting.
