Thanks...I knew there was a trick to it.
Best,

Sorry. It's a Mac Book Pro laptop.

About 4 years ago someone set up my portable external storage drive (Lacie 2 TB) so when I opened LR my photo dates, folders and collections showed on the left panel. This external drive was slowing down and getting near capacity so I transferred the images to a new drive. Could someone explain how to get the new drive synced with LR as my old drive did? My new external portable drive is a 4TB WD. Also, could you tell me the most efficient way of backing up this drive.
Thanks,
David
The model number is QDA-SB1
I connected the Sony card reader to the lightning to USB 3 Adapter and had the power cord also connected to the adapter and a message came up “cannot use device” “connected device requires too much power “. The device is a QXD 120 GB card.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Yes my iPad has a lightning port so I assume I can use the adapter sold by Apple. Thanks for your help.
I don’t know which iPad it is. But the model number is MH2M2LL/A.
As I mentioned I’m using a Z7 that does not have an SD slot. Only a QXD card.
I tried the lightning connector mentioned and got the same message. Not enough power. I now believe that WiFi is the solution.
Thanks
NEF. and I only need to download about 20 or so a day.
How do I download Z7 images (QXD card) to an iPad. When I try direct from the camera it says not enough power, same message when I used the card reader with the appropriate connections.
I thank everyone for all your very interesting and thoughtful comments. This is truly a great “community”. I decided to return the lens. I went to a Jeff Conley exhibition and book signing and really liked his work. He uses a medium format camera with the ff equivalent of 50 and 80 mm and does some stitching as suggested by some of the responses. I decided that the normal distortion was not something I wanted to deal with or learn and the 24 ff equivalent would be wide enough. If not I would stitch.
Yes, I am going on the Gary Hart workshop for those that asked. My first time with him so I’m hoping it will be good.
Thanks again everyone.
I have the Olympus EM 1 Mark II and the 12-40 Pro (24-80 ff equivalent) among other lenses. I bought the Pan Leica 8-18 because I thought I may need a wider angle for a photo workshop I’m going on next week to Yosemite. After seeing some of my shots with this lens and noticing the distortion at the wide angles I’m rethinking whether I should keep it. Fortunately it’s returnable ($1200). Your thoughts and specifically will the 12 to 40 be wide enough?
I did not do a comparison of the color between the D 300 and the Olympus. Most of my street shots are black and white and slight color variations would not be high on my priority for choosing a camera. Quality of lenses and ease of use including weight are usually my top priorities. Will I want to carry it? I liked the suggestion of getting a FF for landscape with one wide lens if I decide to print much larger. I'm going to test out a FF vs my Olympus OMD 5 Mark II, and the new EM 1 that I may get and print them all at around 20 x 24 and see if the difference is substantial enough. Everyone has been really great...thanks.
