The main thing to consider when photographing birds is the use of a good sturdy tripod. I like to use the highest ISO with the least noticeable noise, f8 or better, and at least 1/500 or faster. The more you do, the better you will get.

That is an awesome shot. Love the detail. Thanks for sharing

I used to have a piece I kept on my desk. Had it for years till it was in the way and became part of a garden somewhere. This is a great photo for not only showing that even trees can become fossils, but also the changing of a landscape over time. Very nice. Happy shooting

Hi Bill-

First off, I want to thank you for looking at my images posted from the Bisti. I take it as a compliment that you were so interested in them that you meticulously scrutinized each image. But, from your comments, I feel now I need to respond. For those of you reading this and who are old enough to remember the Desi and Lucy Arnez Show, Desi’s classic line “Lucy- you got some ‘spainin’ to do.” I feel I have some 'spainin' to do.

I hope this explanation is satisfactory. And, again I am happy that you found my images worthy of your time and critical eye. Rest assured that I will make all necessary corrections before they reach the printer- if they ever do.

Rick

I have probably worn everyone out with shots from The Old Mill, but I had to go by there again to catch the dogwoods and azaleas in full bloom. Even with the pollen I think now is when it's most beautiful !! Taken yesterday morning, thought I'd share. D750 -Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 G2. Have A Blessed Day !!!

How do you get worn out with someone posting wonderful photos like that? Beautiful.

Grand finale (hopefully). Download all please for proper viewing ability.

Not bad at all. Wonderful formations and crisp photos. Nicely done. Sky in a few of them could be blended a little more as they look a little cut and paste to me... and second to last photo still has edit lines? and obvious post processing. Was that not the final edit? Still gorgeous shots and I enjoyed them. Keep sharing... not the finale... just the beginning (hopefully)

These birds stay motionless and in cover when someone is around, which makes it hard to find a clear and unobstructed image.

Very nice. You can tell he is hiding lol. Thanks for sharing

Very nice. All I have seen around me is the black racers. Love watching snakes. Birds go nuts when snakes are around. Lets me know to get the camera. Thanks for posting. Enjoyed. Happy shooting

I am experimenting with water splash photography now and will post some of my trials on this site. I mentor a Colorado State University student for two hours a week, fortunately she likes photography. I am having a great experience.
At 84, I am hoping to be active taking photos for a few more years.
