OK folks, can somebody explain this to me. My wife and I had this large plastic container we used to keep dry dog food in. When our dog decided she did not want dry food any more, we decided to repurpose the container. Problem was, after washing it four or five times in hot soapy water an odor remained. An odor that my wife described as smelling like a "HORSES BUTT". Now comes the weird part. She asked me if I would use my air compressor to blow air into the container. I looked at her as if she was crazy. She then continued to tell me that she once gave a large pickle jar to her boss that he wanted to store crackers in. She said she washed it several times but the pickle odor remained. After giving the jar to her boss he also washed that jar several times and couldn't get the pickle odor out. She then went on to tell me that for some unknown reason he decided to blow air into the jar from his air compressor and the odor disappeared. So just to pacify her I went into the garage and blew air from my compressor into the container for about 30 seconds. I was shocked to find that the container no longer had the "HORSES BUTT" odor. In fact it had no odor at all. Could someone please explain to me how this is possible?

Thanks,
They were all hand held at approximately 30 times zoom.
Testing out Sony DSC-hx50v point and shoot. Considering the small sensor and shooting through a double glass pane patio door, I don't think it did a bad job (also slightly cropped).

Hello,
I have been following this blog for a couple of months and decided to join. I have been involved in photography as a hobby since I sold my train set back in the 60's to buy a developing kit. That was after I got the bug by making contact prints (Do any of you remember contact prints?). Since then, I have worked my way up from a Kodak Brownie to a DSLR. As I said previously, it's just a hobby, but if there is anyway I can help I will be happy to contribute. I am sure I will learn much more than I can teach.
