An artist friend made and mailed calendars for several years. He put them in a similar size envelope along with a same size piece of cardboard. Mine always arrived in perfect condition.

Thank you, that sounds like a good idea!

Tasteless / unnecessary! Unfortunately just a sign of these sad times and a reminder of who is currently merely posing as President and likely those who blindly support him. His blind / dim followers show classic "cult" behavior and would really appreciate a shot like this - which will, I'm sure, eventually become a classic
of its' own (hopefully not). I would think you are capable of slightly better work although.....

I have the Nikon 105mm. It is an awesome lens. This butterfly was the first one that I shot with it.
I later had it put on a 20 X 30 canvas.

Very nice, thanks! I like canvas for wildlife!

Back surgery would possibly indicate VR and fairly light, at least for the short term...and a 100-105mm will give you greater working distance.(less bending and stooping)

Thank you, Makes perfect sense to me!

The Nikon 105mm f2.8 is a very sharp lens. It's almost as sharp as the Nikon 105mm f1.4 for less than half the price and it has VR. Can't speak for the the other lenses. The Nikon 60mm f2.8 is also a very sharp lens but is better suited for shooting flat field subjects like paintings and other copy work.

That's the one I'm pretty much looking at, thanks!

The problem with the shorter macro lens is the working distance is so close it can be problematic for some shots.

Thanks, I understand!

I've got 9 macro lenses from 55 to 180mm in focal length. Some are manual focus, others are autofocus. They span Nikon, Tamron, Sigma, Vivitar et al. Optically they are all good. Sure, some optical differences might be detected when doing a bench test, but not so much in real-world shooting. I'd suggest looking for one with the features you want rather than brand name. The 90-105 range is the best compromise as they allow a bit more distance from the lens to your subject when at life-size... As you get closer to life-size, the usefulness of AF and vibration reduction become lessened. That said, those features will be better suited at normal distances. Personally, I use an older manual focus 105 as my go-to macro lens. Samples can be viewed on my Flickr stream...

Thank you! I will check those out.
