Every year at about the second week in December this Camellia shrub bursts forth with the most beautiful pink blooms and by the end of the month they are about gone. We have a couple of other Camellias but this one is the best.
Terrific photo. I recall seeing one early in the morning on the golf course in Avon, CT. Trying to sneak up on a squirrel, but couldn’t quite catch it. This was 25 years ago so they have been quietly among us in the East for long time.
We had a shop similar to that when I was growing up in Rhode Island (ancient history). That was always a treat. Thanks for stirring the memories with your excellent photos and narrative Jim.
You are right JeffD, glad I had my iPhone with me. Always say I should keep my Nikon A900 in the car but I would not have had time to even open it up in this situation. Glad you enjoyed the pix.
