Leica was my first 35mm camera when I was 15 years old. But know at my age I can only afford to look at them. I can buy a whole lot of Nikon gear for what I could buy a Leica body, it might not be the same quality but it is not bad either.
By the way, I love your photography, great work.
I worked for UNIVAC. What model are we talking about?
I really go back to seen an IBM 705, 1401 that later became the 1410 when they added the magnetic drum, yes disc did not exist back then. Of course I was kind of young, but I saw the first computer in 1957 that motivated me to get into that field at a young age. But yes I am kind of young. It is funny because a friend also send me an ad from 1980 when PC went for $5,999.99 with 64k of memory and 10 mb disc, of course this after the IBM PC and some of it clones. The magnificent XT. George, I was taking a look at your web page and noticed that we both retired from the computer industry.
I remember paying over $20k for 10mb on my mini computer some time back, when I was into software development. That is a gift $5k for 16tb. Actually back then there where very few mainframes that had 1tb.
I am dying to try it, but I am afraid that not all of the software that I use would be available on it, right away.
thanks. what a great picture.
