You can buy an awesome Mac desktop .Unless you need a laptop go for a desktop 21.5 inch, 8 gb ram and a 1 terrabite solid state hard drive cost about 1400.
Apple can then download all your programs and photos from the cloud for free.

As for creative suite. It’s the best deal at about $10 a month and all upgrades are free

Thanks vg. Since I learned to download my images to my iPad when I’m away from home, I really think the larger screen of a desktop would work better. I’ll remember your specs when I go shopping. I may even get a little bit for trading the laptop in.

Perhaps talk to your local Apple store about solid-state drives?

Thanks Fred. I’ll probably head that way when the sleet and freezing rain subsides.

My five year old MacBook Pro hard drive just bit the dust. Wondering what I should go with next. My budget is in the $2000 (or less) range. I use the computer only for photos and photo editing because I have an iPad and an iPhone as well. I am a Grandma with 12,000 photos to play with. Just recently I subscribed to the Adobe Creative suite (jury still out on keeping it). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I too am the happy owner of the 77D. I got it to replace my T3i back in May. I really like it a lot. With the articulating touchscreen it’s easy to position the camera and change the settings. I took it with the Tamron 18-400 mm on a National Parks tour and was very happy with the results. I still have a lot to learn but the camera did not disappoint.

It's (usually) "all about the light" and the "story". You have told an excellent one.

I think that landscapes almost always work best when all the elements in the composition are in focus. So, I like the first and the last photos the best. Of those two, I would chose no. 1 because of the great reflections. It also gives me a great sense of being there. Maybe it is a bit busy; but sometimes nature is just like that. Even if it is a bit busy, I'm not hunting for a subject. My eye follows the water and the branch swoops down into the photo keeping my eye moving through the photo. Busy composition are a distraction when I'm hunting all over the composition to see what you want me to look at. That is not an issue here. Well done.

Thanks Erich for your input. Looks like #1 is the overall winner. I really learned a lot from all the responses and am grateful for the comments.

Thanks JohnR for your vote. I think it’s a tie between the first and the last.
Thanks fergmark. The dark area seems to take away from the reflection.
ArtBob thanks for the lines. They’re helpful.

Looks like a scene that needed quiet contemplation prior to taking any shots to determine exactly what you wanted to show.

Good advice. Thank you. I got caught up with the surprise of “finding it” and just clicked away.

taj334, That is a weird looking rock and for that reason I like the second photo best!

Hi Snap Shot. Thanks for your input I think it was the rock and it’s reflection that drew me in in the first place. Next time I’ll try to do a little more thinking and a little less clicking.

Thanks GeorgeK. You're right. My eyes go all over the place. Thanks for pointing that out.
Thanks Dave. Your critique is spot on. Appreciate your input. I'll try harder to make my "framing" not distracting. A lot to think about. Thanks for helping me out with it.
Thanks Jaymatt. I tried your crop and I agree with you. Looks like I was trying to put everything (but the kitchen sink) in it. Next time I'll try to pick and choose more.
Thanks for all the feedback. It's was very helpful.
And Kennievans. My reply to you went wrong. It went somewhere. I agree, in the end it's my choice, but it's good to have others opinions to help figure out how we see things. Thank you for your input.

Thanks for your input. It is very helpful. I will try to keep in mind "what is the subject" and work from there.

Thanks Linda. Being "too busy" definitely applies here.
