OK it was dumb but the Iphone5 fell in toilet last night and got it out quickly, it seemed to work for a moment and then buzzed and had funny lines so shut it down and put in desiccant to dry it out overnight but will not come back on. ANY ideas appreciated!

Ruth Bader Ginsberg is a great person and would not feel she would portray Eliz Warren really. Listening to Warren is like having the dentist hit a nerve with his pick.

you can still find Photoshop on disc and same with Photoshop Elements both of which allow watermarks etc. BUT if you are using PS a lot you can get PS and Lightroom together for $10 a month subscription and you get all the updates etc. I have PSE 12 on disc and bought at Costco and love it. Had PSE 9 previously and before that 5 and 3 and it does everything I want and now use Lightroom as well and got it for less than $100 on disc.

Elizabeth Warren is a whine bag!!! She lied about her heritage to get into Harvard faculty etc. WHY??? IF she was so bright and such why lie about her heritage. I am totally for Hillary running for President, I am a liberal but man, Elizabeth Warren just whines too much, is a multimillionaire and tries to sound like she is one of us, middle class which she is definitely not. Her husband is a very rich guy on his own and she is rich due to working teaching one class a week and Harvard paying her hundreds of thousands of dollars. Nice gig if you can get it, esp if you are NOT an American Indian(Native American) but registered as one to get the job!! She is a lying piece of excrement.

First of all if you shoot in Aperature mode, you pick the aperture and the camera chooses the shutter speed or will tell you that the camera is open or closed too much to take a picture. Get on Aperature, put it on F8(usually sweet spot for cameras) and then shoot away letting the camera choose your shutter speed. Just be aware, your ISO will also control lighting so higher ISO will allow a faster shutter speed. SO if your grandkids are moving around or moving a little you want a fast shutter speed so you may want to use F5.6 instead of F8 OR you could choose your shutter speed and let camera choose the aperture. THAT will affect your depth of field so the kids look great(if you focus on them) but background will be blurred possibly if your camera chooses an open f-stop like 2.8. Conversely, if the camera chooses a closed down Fstop, F22 you could have lots of distracting background so most of us use Aperature priority or Manual where you choose everything, which is harder but it gets you to think about things like depth of field and clarity of focus etc. ISO is a CONSIDERATION and on nice day, keep at 100-200 and cloudy or dark days or evenings use a higher ISO but be aware that higher the ISO the more possibility of noise in photo. There is a GREAT teacher out there named Mike Milicia who teaches all of this( I am not related but did take a course with him) and find he seems to be able to explain this in a way people understand and he also does photo trips so.... could be a fun way of learning. Just saying.

I have a 100-400L Canon Lens and LOVE it. BUT it is heavy so you have to attach it to the tripod by its collar. That being said, if the tripod they are throwing is not a heavy duty but lightweight tripod then it is not worth it, you will need to buy a new one anyway. UV filter or 0 ND filter does protect your expensive lens from scratches so would definitely want that BUT you want a quality filter since you have an expensive lens and if the filter is cheap, then you are not getting the clarity your 100-400mm lens should be giving you!!!! I do like the trombone zoom on this lens, just saying!!

WHY switch to Nikon? What do you feel Nikon does better? You have A LOT invested in Canon so did Canon really piss you off or what? I used to be a Nikon shooter but like Canon better.

I have a 18-270 Tamron and like it BUT it gets "stuck" going out midway and coming back in midway so sent it to them to "fix" and they sent it back in the same condition but maybe they cleaned it but they did not fix a damn thing with it sticking midway out and in!!! SO I would be leery about their technical acumen. The lens itself is a sweet lens, I tested it and $50 to do so believe it or not. They advertised a morning of an expert talk and then try out lenses and it cost $49 or $50. I did it. The expert was a women who really just was showing off her own photos and they were NOT that good, then we went to a place there are lots of birds and it was raining but they let us test out the new lenses. I did like the 16-300 lens but have not look at the photos with a critical eye really.

SO if you cannot add photos to a folder on the hard drive how do you do it in Lightroom so that LR recognizes those photos that were not in the folder to begin with? Right now LR is overwhelming me but am sure I will get it. Bought a book but it is about 1000 pages so.......... more confused. I made a folder called MY Lightroom Photos which resides on my hard drive but now if I want to add photos, what do I do so that I can access them from LR and still have them in My Lightroom Photo folder that then has many folders. My other question is this- My Lightroom Photos folder has many folders in it but when I open My Lightroom Photos folder it opens ALL the folders at once so I am looking a mass of photos and the photos have the name of the folders under them but that sucks. Is there a way of keeping the folders closed unless I click on it?

I do know of a hand engraver who could do the job for you. He is one of the last hand engravers left in the US. I am sure he is reasonably priced and if you are serious message me and I will get you in touch with this expert with gun engraving and consummate hand engraver. I want my guns engraved with that message, LOVE IT.

Go up Rt 302, there are so many places with great views. you could go over 302 to RT 93 to Sugar Hill NH, go to Polly Pancake Parlor (make a reservation) and you have some views from there that are great and then ride more up the hill and to the left at top of hill. Nice town and many views. There is a nice little church up there called Historic Saint Mathews Church. It is above Polly's pancakes and on opposite side but worth a few shots. Many great flowers but not sure what is in bloom in August.
Go to Canon Mountain and go up the Tram and you will have great views, also go up the train at Mt Washington. North Conway has some great opportunities for photos.
