OK it was dumb but the Iphone5 fell in toilet last night and got it out quickly, it seemed to work for a moment and then buzzed and had funny lines so shut it down and put in desiccant to dry it out overnight but will not come back on. ANY ideas appreciated!

I've heard if you put it in a bag of rice. The moisture is drawn out over a couple days. Ed

Lost a pager that way once. Maybe you will be able to get some kind of deal on the new IP6 when it comes out.

Since it is an I-Phone 5 it might improve the performance! And I am a MAC and I-Pad user! I-Phones suck! Get a Droid!

Try taking the battery and sim card out and put it in dry rice for 24-48 hours. Worth a try.

Most important is to get the battery out right away.

that is why I put it in dissicant thinking it would dry it out faster than rice!

You should have dried it before trying to turn it on.... I am afraid that you may have caused serious damage in trying to use it before a thorough drying.... Whenever anything like that happens remember that water itself is not what destroys the circuits, the shorts that occur when it is energized is what causes the damage, if it is dried first your chances of recovering your device are much greater.... But still give it a chance, you still may be able to recover it.

NOT sure where the Sim card and battery are on this phone. THAT is the problem! The phones before this you could get to the sim card easily, not so much on this one.

It fell in while on so when I fished it out, it was on and turned off immediately but not soon enough I am afraid. The case looks sealed so not sure how to get the battery out or the SIM card out to dry them off etc.

If you get it working, being under water won't matter, I-Phones sound that way.

remove the battery, then place it in a bag of rice. Be sure to plug it in to recharge before trying it and assuming it s destroyed.
