Just wanted to add a little information regarding the cost of printer inks in case you didn't already know. I only buy original canon inks for my Pro 9000 mark ii ( which I love by the way). I used to buy them on Amazon because that was where I could find the best price. I went to Staples the other day because I was in a pinch and couldn't wait on a shipment from Amazon. When I told the cashier that I usually buy my inks elsewhere she said they will match anyone's lowest advertised price. When I told her it was Amazon she said it didn't matter. They will match Amazon's prices as well. The only stipulation is that the inks on Amazon have to say "Sold and shipped by Amazon". They will not match the price if the inks are being sold on amazon by a 3rd party seller. The inks I showed them that day on Amazon were all sold and shipped by Amazon so they matched the prices and I saved myself about $30.00 that day. I'm not sure we're you all buy your inks but you might want to give it a try if you want to save some money.

For processing right now, I'm working with Lightroom 5.

From what I've read, due to the filters located on the sensor, all RAW files could stand some level of sharpening in post processing. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

While I understand that the exact amount of sharpening that is appropriate will depend on the image itself...Is there some rule of thumb that can be used as a starting point, particularly when batching a large number of similar raw files? I suppose a follow-up would be, DOES the camera used to capture the image affect that recommendation in any significant way?

Let me know if there is any additional information I can give to help answer.

Thanks!

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the 430ex ii can not be used as a master. You might be able to trigger another flash optically but i'm thinking you will lose the ettl functionality and may have to go manual on both flashes. The 600 will definitley act as a master and fire the 430 as a slave with full ettl functionality.

I am not the original poster and I will not be shooting a wedding anytime soon, but I am astounded by the responses and the sheer volume of very useful information being provided. Thank you to you all!!!

Good info. I do already have the spider 3 elite so I guess I can post a follow up when I get the new monitor to let you both know if I experience the same issue.

I'm thinking I might need a new monitor. I've researched the forums enough to know that I'm interested in a Dell U2412M. Would love to go the Eizo route but I just can't afford it. My question on the Dell is this. In the literature for this monitor it says that it covers 82% of the gamut. Anyone know what gamut they are referring to? Is it srgb and if so would the difference between 82% and a monitor that covers 99% of the srgb color space even be noticeable? Just wondering which way I should go.
