With all the war and misery photos from Syria, how nice to see decorative fireworks. Kudos for your amazingly clever insertion of illuminated text of your name. I never saw that before. I wish you would post some other images of your country. And what camera, lens information? ?? Thanks.

Aha! Thank you! I didn't know you could use macro and zoom, also! I now have a ehole new range of experimentation, assuming the two cameras function similarly. I realized the porch lights made a difference. Sure better than trying to see the little critters in the dark while worrying about snakes.

A Fuji hs50? The same as my Canon hs50? Equivalent lens???? Huh!!! That's a surprise!!!

But did you rack the lens all the way out I guess I am asking. Your picture is so much better than my attempts, i am really curious, though I didn't use a tripod nor shoot as slow as 200.

One consideration is the size of your camera. If you have a huge camera and bazooka lens, people can get spooked but if you have a small camera, they may look askance but will probably figure your pictures won't come out, anyway. Asking for permission and a signed model release because you are planning to sell images is regarded differently by most folks from just snapping scenery or memento pics, in my experience, anyway.

They are really tiny tree toads, right? Great picture of the little dudes! I sure would like to know how far away were you and what lens, focal length? That's not a macro or is it? Last summer I spent many hours/nights trying to get pictures of teensy toads in my pond or on the side of my home with my sx50. A challenge to find any with a flashlight so the camera could see to focus and flash! Mi e don't lurk on the outside lights so I would appreciate some helpful information as to how you managed to get such a full view so I can have better success this year! Thanks.

Thanks for the good suggestions and encouragement. It helps to know about others who have the same problems and how they solved them!!!

Thanks for posting these fascinating images and your interesting information exchange. Cisterns and roof water capture have so many laws regulating them - often at variance from state to state here in the U. S. The health department officials required me to have a drilled well (so expensive) in my area in Virginia, stating they had taken cisterns out of the Code (so maybe they are illegal?) I have water barrels for my gardens and wished I could have had much more affordable (legal) cisterns instead because of my area's abundant rain fall.

Stormseeker, bingo! Yes, you are sure correct because it is mostly my neighbors who torment me. I have interior land. The neighbors whose property rings mine all have well - posted land but any posts I put up are torn down. They all keep watch, so anyone trespassing on me is either the neighbors or their pals. The strange atv's are brought in via truck/trailer which have to be parked somewhere. As to legal process, VA laws work in their favor. I have to do what your friend did, identify them, then notify them they are trespassing and unwelcome. Ha ha. Their survey plats are on record. They know they are trespassing! But once there has been official notice, the next time I catch them, the sheriff might do something. ..... My Problem Is how to get clear proof of who they are and what doing. The sheriff laughs at me because he says none of the neighbors are complaining. Duh! Also, I am where three counties intersect so no sheriff takes responsibility. They all whine about gangs like Cripps and Bloods but not a word about hunt clubs. Sure is a mental disconnect hereabouts. Thanks for your help. I have had deals with hunters fhor more than 20 years. They help me my land taxes or barter work but none are smart like you. They don't seem to have protective instincts or abilities.

I am a dog lover. I was appalled by the cruelty of teasing the dogs and off - camera laughing at them. My son had that video on his Facebook page. Not magic. Mean. Mean. Mean.

Pro Camera in Charlottesville, Virginia. The owner, Bill Moretz, is a wonderful guy, as are his employees. They are k knowledgeable and caring. I much prefer to buy local even if it costs more because of the vital interest and energy exchange. We had two other good stores plus a Ritz. Now gone.

Some years back, local poachers had very sophisticated hand - held radios. I had an acquaintance who bought a scanner at Radio Shack who figured out the channel the thieves used. He spent hours trying to figure out who they were (they used call names like "Garfield") and where they were. They outfoxed him but at least he was doing something to defend himself. There were also widely sold Radio Shack ham radios. I had nosy neighbors who listened to truckers talking or communicated all over the world. Listening devices as small as tacks have been around for more than 25 years. Eisenhower had a nephew with a pleasure boat installed with high tech devices which did get him dragged into court because some black mail was involved. Gps devices in cell phones are used for tracking or separate ones can be stuck on cars or hidden. Lawyers are adroit in finding ways to defend their criminal clients by making the good guys wrong and using the pitiful defense of invasion of privacy but yay for the stingray and the traffic cam and the business surveillance cams! Mostly they are useful after the crime but nobody would buy them if they were useless and too many people use variants (like parents tracking their kids' cell phones) to outlaw them. (My opinion).

Stormseeker, thanks so much! I love the idea of setting two cameras to get the truck bed from above and license from below. And I looked at the cameras and packaging but never thought about reading reviews!

And MT - uh oh! I live in Virginia, not Montana! Laws are different in the wussy east from your wild west! Perish forbid I intentionally set a non- selective harmful device on my own land to protect my own property. If one of the rampages got hurt, I would be held liable.

Welll, 70 acres with a road running sort of through the middle plus a side road to the lake my neighbor made. These drivable in a car or truck. But atv's can go about anywhere a person can go on foot, can access at almost any point. They are amazing machines! If you do a search on atv's on Google, you can see how much you would NOT want those destructive driver thugs on your land!
