Thanks for looking Linda what brought me over to the area was an Osprey flying over he or she did get a meal.
Back in April took some shots of a Pelican and spotted this I think yellow headed black bird. Myrna posted a yellow headed black bird on the 8th this one is more orange.

dlmorris I do not know much about SX50 except a lot of hoggers have and love it.
I have the 60D and Tamron 150-600 I have been having a blast. I think you will really enjoy this setup with the VC you can hand hold and get a good picture. If you don't mind I will post couple hand held pictures.

last Friday I got a picture of Osprey ( not near as nice )as yours it hit the water but I could not see it pull the fish out of the water due to the cat tails and Russian olive trees, always another day right.

Nice shot uppics last Friday I got the exact same picture. Came home and looked it up, American white pelican must have been 10 or so with Blue Heron in background. Also a black bird with orange head I will have to post and ask what it is.
