Back in April took some shots of a Pelican and spotted this I think yellow headed black bird. Myrna posted a yellow headed black bird on the 8th this one is more orange.
Nice shots! Yes, it's a yellow-headed blackbird. And I see you caught a great blue heron in #1, as well :)
Thanks for looking Linda what brought me over to the area was an Osprey flying over he or she did get a meal.

Sounds like a great spot for bird action shots!
Nice photo it is a little different color.
Myrna,
I saw your post and it reminded me I was going to ask about this bird my bird book shows one that looks same color as your post they both have the white on the wings.
Thanks for looking
John
Great shots, I saw a very bright yellow headed black bird yesterday, but didn't get a picture. Thanks for sharing. Bee

Good shots. I like the shot of them flying - taking off.
Linda,
I talked to a retired geologist today at the lake I guess there are some rare birds that migrate there, like a white-rumped Sandpiper. I wouldn't know the difference myself.
Anyway I will post a picture of the lake with Shiprock 20 miles away
Thanks for looking Bee Kinda wish I had my camera with me today also.
Hello Dlevon that is the first time for me to see a yellow headed black bird.
Thanks for looking
Hey jerryc,
I was out at the inlet to the lake today didn't see the Pelican's.
We had a contractor dredging out the inlet to lake. For the past 15 years it has been my job to keep the lake full.
Thanks for taking the time to look
