Pitted against Canon rebels and Nikon 3200/5100 etc is it a looser?
I bought it for the few reasons
1> I inherited few old Minolta lens .
2> I have been using sony DSC ( point and shoot) for longer than a decade.
3> Sony has a huge network in India
4> SLT is a newer technology.
5> Canon 600D and Nikon 3200/5100 has far less features than this.
6> FPS is faster ( though in jpeg)
7> handling( weight, grip, buttons) felt great.
On the other hand i still have some doubts. All my pics are shot at ISO ( 800-1600), Shutter ( 1/60 - 1/100),F 4-5.6 and WB -Auto and without Flash. the Fire pics have come nicely. But all the pics are generally reddish. Is that common?
Guys,
I stumbled upon this discussion just before trying my hand at bonfire festival in India called lohri. This is soo great that I have joined this blog the first thing in the morning. I managed to get some really good pics. Now i can confidently say that my graduation from point and shoot is quite visible. :)
Namaskar,
I am from New Delhi, India. I recently got a Sony Alpha 58 with a standard (18-55) lens and started my jouney.
Of all the communities i consulted with my doubts this by far i found the simplest and most friendly. I hope you keep it that way without Jargons and deep theories.
I am hugely benefitted by one of your panel discussions about bonfire photography.I hope for lot more lessons and help on my journey.
