Since Daughter wanted some shots of the kids for this year's Christmas card we did a photoshoot at their place yesterday. It was COLD but they were real troupers with a promise of hot chocolate when we finished.

Sue, this is a magical set. While the images are impressive and, I know, enjoyed and appreciated by all today, in twenty or thirty years they will be priceless. This group of photos represents to me exactly why I love photography-- locked-in-time moments that capture joy and love for . . . ever. Well done!

I am a landscape guy and currently have a Canon 60 D and have the opportunity to get an 80 D so am interested in knowing if this will be an upgrade or is there another model that would be better. I am not particularly interested in video capabilities. Also which lens would be best for this camera. Thank

I can't speak about the upgrade between 60D to 80D, but I did upgrade from the 7D to the 80D and am very impressed with the result. The kit lens that came with the camera is darned good, and for my purposes, which include a wide range of shooting situations, it works fine. I do plan to buy a 10--18mm wide angle, since I shoot a lot of home interiors (tripod and remote shutter release). I'm sure your query will generate a lot of direction from Hog members.

Paul, I appreciate so much your sharing your talent. It's true that you have professional equipment, but even more evident is that you have developed the skill and invested the time to use that equipment to produce stunning images. Gifted Forum members such as you are important teachers for those of us who (even though on the sunny side of 75!) are encouraged to learn and grow. Thank you!

thank you. I was leaning towards Canon and I think you just gave me more reason to persue that brand

SS said it better than I ever could. I've been a Canon man from the get-go, and have absolutely no regrets. Welcome to the forum, and very best wishes for many great images captured with whatever camera you choose.

I have no recollection of this camera, but I am definitely shooting with a Canon. This is before selfies were called selfies. I know this is from the later 1970s because I'm wearing the Harris Tweed jacket I bought in London for $35 in 1974. This were cheaper then.

Jerry, I hope you give prints of this to relatives young and old. It's a magical moment in your history--a great example of what photography is all about. Thanks for reminding us.
