Ironically I took a shot last year that is almost the same pose except mine is of an older chick and is not nearly the quality of yours.

While out looking for photo ops, my wife spotted this beautiful Wood Duck drake perched in a live oak tree about 25 feet above the ground. I got off this hand held shot before he got startled and flew away. My first shot of a duck in a tree!

A small flock of These beautiful birds visit our area each year. They stay from June to August and then migrate farther south for the winter.

You must have been singing him a sweet song! I used to hunt too, in a younger world. But I could never sing that sweet of a song.

That morning I used a diaphragm call. Here are other shots of the same bird - one gobbling, then in half strut and finally in full strut.

Beautiful bird and photo. Did you do the calling? Pretty good to call him that far out of the woods. Does he not get hunted?

I did the calling. I hunted turkeys for over 40 years before I took up photography. I now enjoy hunting with a camera more than I did with a gun. This bird was about 45 yards from the tree line and it was midway through Turkey season.

This beautiful gobbler was called from the nearby woods into a grassy opening and photographed from a portable blind at a distance of about 30 yards.

This large member of the squirrel family is fairly rare. It is found only in a few areas in the South. It’s coloration varieties from all black with a white face to one like this one that is predominantly lighter with touches of black.
