the people who are convinced that cameras will be obsolete and photography replaced entirley by artificially created computer imagery is the future, are simply wrong.
people will always take pictures of family and friends, and at weddings and events. For some of us Photographs store memories.

Advertising and marketing, making movies, is about making money and photography costs money. If AI technology is able to provide the same product at a lower cost you can expect AI will displace photography and become common in those areas.

So you see these as equally AI generated even though one had only a rope leading the horse removed and the other is created by a computer from a typed two-sentence prompt?

Are they both to be considered photographs now? Or does the one originally from a camera lose its photograph status after one alteration?

Doesn't posting the AI image in a photographic topic imply it is, or should be, considered a photograph, even if it has a disclaimer?
I think you can certainly call an image entirely created using AI ”digital art” or “graphics art” if you prefer. But it is not a photograph and to call it a photograph IMHO is mislabeling it.

Photography is to “paint with light” and creating images on the computer is not painting with light. It’s more like painting without a brush. It’s a form of digital art but it is not photography.

Something in your post does not ring true.
An example, the Nikon Z9 sells for $5696.95, you can use the payboo card in two ways, you can pay off in a month and save the sales tax, so if you use the payboo card and pay in when you receive your statement, you only pay $5696.95.
If you want the 12 month option by B&H and payboo, you pay $475 a month for 12 months or $5700.00. So, this way you can save on the sales tax and get 12 months interest free.
Way to go B&H.
The OP did not do something correct with his payboo card and now he is blaming B&H for it instead of calling them in person and correcting it he comes here and blames B&H. Very typical of him, he likes to blame others first.
If I made a purchase of $6000.00 I would ALWAYS call B&H and talk to a sales person and make sure they understood I was purchasing the $6000.00 purchase with the payboo 12 month no interest option.
That way I would assure myself that I was getting what I wanted.
Yes Mr. OP, it is that simple, you messed up somewhere, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00 and DO NOT BLAME B&H.

You made some good points in your reply but why the emotional response and the personal attack? OP said:

First of all I have lost count of how much money I have happily spent at BnH. Every single experience I have had at BnH has been positive. Absolutely no complaints from me what so ever. … I am not done with BnH by any means….

That does not sound like dragging BnH through the mud to me. I viewed Jim’s post as just asking “what is up” because he didn’t understand what happened. He thought perhaps someone here could explain it and he wouldn’t have to call them. Indeed that is what happened.

So I’m wondering why all the emotion directed at Jim?

Sandblasting worked for me. AF is now more than 2X faster than when it was brand new, plus DoF was huuuuuugely improved.
I find that fine steel grit is better than sand. Good for cleaning sensors too.

Just to ask, did you check the focal point. I found on my Z9 that I bump the focal ring to move the focal center and it won’t focus jntil I recenter it.
I find this to be the biggest issue with the Z9.
I did try recentering the focus point (the red square). But that did not resolve the not-focusing problem.

If you bump the Focal ring to slightly change focus it won’t subsequently auto focus? I have not noticed that behavior and boy does that does sound annoying. What the heck? I wonder if there is a setting somewhere that controls that behavior?

FYI my won’t-auto focus issue was resolved on page 1 by Orphoto.

Still it's not enough! You still have to go into the menu for lots of things.
I was writing metaphorically, when I said “knobs” I meant there are lots of options including the menu items, not necessarily physical knobs. A menu item can be thought of as a software knob.

Anyway whatever you call them there are lots of them!

For the first time in 8 years, I actually hit the tab on the Multi Selector that locks AF & couldn't do anything a couple /few weeks ago. Took about 10-15 minutes before got it figured out.
There is a tab on the multi selector that locks auto focus?? I better take a look at that so I know where it is!!

It's not as bad as you portray. To change a setting you have to push a button AND turn one of the 2 command dials at the same time.
I managed to do that. 🙁

Is the autofocus control button near the bottom of the left side of the Z8 body combined with rear selector dial set to MF?

Did you dial into one of the U1,2,3 modes ?

Check your custom controls menu to confirm whether the "Fn" buttons are still asigned as you meant them to be, especially confirming that the AF On button is still set up as AF On.

Acoarst you can ignore the Greek chorus of "clean the contacts" and "two button reset".
its still in Mode A.

Confirmed AF on is still set as AF-On.

Odd it WAS working.

I pulled it out of the drawer and swapped lenses before turning it on. Would not autofocus. Toggle M/AF switch on lens. Still won’t autofocus. Power cycled, no good. Swapped back to 24-200mm and it still won’t autofocus.
Checked menu:
A6 AF Activation is set to AF-ON only

But pressing the AF-ON button does not activate the focus system.

Anyone had this problem or have any suggestions?

The plan is for a year, billed monthly.
Annual or monthly payment plans are available.
Are you saying that when paying monthly an annual contract is still required? I'm asking because I don't know. I pay annually so as not to have to bother paying every month.
