I am familia with John White, he has done conversions in some of my old lenses and they work to perfection.

Is composition more important than exposure? Without a good exposure composition will not help.
Just saying.

Located in the suburban area of Kendall, here in Miami, this is a park that was unknown to me till now. It opened in 2011.

The park I visit more often is Tropical Park but a visit to the Kendall Indian Hammocks Park yesterday opened my eyes. It has no lakes like Tropical Park but it has a more interesting landscape.

For sport lovers it has three football fields, a small gym, 36 holes of disc golf and a skate park. There are plenty of exotic trees and plenty of birds to watch although in April it begins to get hot in Florida and all of those migratory birds that visit the state during the winter months are mostly gone from here.
I took a few shots to give you an idea of what can be photographed in the park. The image of the trees in shot No. 2 called my attention, I do not know what trees they are but their presentation caught my eye.

Hopefully I will visit again Sunday, I will take my camera with me but like this one it will be a visit to explore this beautiful place. A friend, an avid videographer and influencer in social media invited me to a barbecue in the park.
I have nothing spectacular here to present but it will give you an idea of the photographic opportunities available to the photographer.

Old San Juan must be in your schedule. San Felipe del Morro castle, worth a visit.
Visit the old cemetery by the ocean, just ask and you will be directed there. I believe there is a trolley that will take you there for free.

Those are beautiful images Paul and I join others in thanking you for your contribution to this thread.

I rarely enlarge beyond 12x18 inches. I had no issues using a Nikon D70 to achieve those sizes or when I used the D2H, 6.1 and 4.1 Mp. cameras. My Olympus Pen EP-L1 had 12 Mp., the Pen EP-5 had 17 and my EM-5 Mk III has 20. I never saw the difference using the same lens on the three of them.
Very soon I realized that so many pixels were not so necessary for a majority of applications.

The D800 was a great camera but it was not for me. My Nikon D610 has 24 Mp. and those are more pixels than I really need, most probably more Mp. than anybody needs. I agree that a good lens is what we need, if we know how to use it. I never failed to see results from a lens when I did my part.
I know my experience on this could be different from that of someone else but I do not need lots of pixels in my photography.

Manufacturers made lots of money during the so called megapixels race. I was able to understand that so many megapixels were not necessary and time has proven me right.

Jerry, precisely today I sent an email to Seriff Co. regarding their software and I mentioned that I was very disappointed in their sky replacement, laborious and not always satisfactory to say the least. I told them that I expected the new company will look more into AI like so many other software manufacturers have done.

I had an unfortunate incident by which I lost all of my editing programs. I have been able to recover some of them but Affinity Photo version I was not one of them. I have been considering if it will be worth to recover the software again because to make the basic editing that I do I do not need Affinity any more. I have a technician coming to repair the computer and I am glad that at least I can communicate with my fellow photographers at Ugly Hedgehog.

I had one Yashica rangefinder once and its quality was so poor that I never looked at Yashica again. I saw images made with its medium format cameras and I was impressed with the quality. By then they have improved the quality of their optics.
I am glad Yashica is back, not that I am interested in their products. I am using Olympus as my micro fourths thirds and I am very happy with their cameras and optics.

This is my humble take on this. A photographer is an artist, we do not have the canvas or brushes a painter has but we are still artists. We are also creative, we were when we were using the darkroom and we are now that we have the "digital darkroom."
AI is here to stay and I bet it is the future of ALL editing programs. More and more editors are incorporating AI into their software.

I have always been a fan of landscape photography and although I have been photographing landscapes for more than 50 years I still enjoy very much placing my camera on a tripod and exposing the beautiful scenery our Lord created for us. Nothing makes me more happy than to look at the beauty He created and with all my humble expertise I try to reproduce what I saw in a JPEG or RAW data. How many times I felt frustrated, especially when shooting slide film with those flat, unattractive skies mainly in winter? Many times, there was no way I could fix an otherwise interesting image. AI has changed that. I now have two choices, I can go with what I shot or I can improve what I saw with AI. Many times I go with AI and save the image. Enlargement? No issues, if good attention to details is paid and AI is not over used the image will look very natural.

I understand the purist, I used to be that way also but I cannot deny the improvements that AI has brought to my photography. As I said, we have choices and each one of us should do what pleases us.
To repeat myself, I am very happy using AI, not on all images and now I have new choices. I firmly believe that AI is here to stay.

Like bsprague I also go with something simple that will hold my camera. My carbon fiber tripod is a Desmond DCF 432, a tripod that has not disappointed me in its performance and it costs me less than $100. It is not the most expensive tripod out there but it does the job.
When I need to travel light and especially if I am using my Olympus cameras then I take with me a small aluminum made Dolica tripod that costs me $40. With good tripod techniques the tripod has served me well, even when I used one of my Nikon dSLR bodies.
