The sun-earth distance makes much less difference in the seasons than the angle due to the tilt of the earth's axis, which is 23.5 degrees. When a hemisphere, N or S is tilted toward the sun the sun's energy is more direct; when tilted away it is spread over a wider area, and thus less intense. That effect of the tilt is much more important that 3% in distance, especially because the distance effect is further reduced by the inverse square law: 3% squared is 0.0009 or .09%, trivial compared to the spreading out of the "same" sun rays over the larger earth surface area when the axis is tilted at the extreme, i.e., at winter.

I am sure in the old days typed text had 2 spaces between sentences. But with word processors it seems one is now standard, probably because because published books and articles are that way. I had to learn 1 not 2 when I used MSWord to write my book which was edited and published by Archway Publishing.

Dropbox. Easy to use. Mine is set to backup each file automatically every time I save one. Lots of features. One I use most are emailing a folder, (a set of files photos usually) by emailing a link to that folder to specified recipients, or even to a Groups.io group. Whenever I delete a file, I get a screen message asking if I want to delete it on Dropbox. There are many other features that look useful, and I see them when I search on how to share files (above use), because I seldom use them.

Best is the above auto-save with permission-from-me-feature--no worries about losing files in a crash, etc..

I am unschooled about how hard it is to set up, because my IT guy does it all (I have 10 computers plus 3 iPads in two states (4 buildings), but from my limited special uses, it probably is not too hard.

Very nice. I make mine with a bit more exposure, but yours shows good contrast.

Your photo proves what I have often posted: The moon is a daylight object, ISO 100, f/8, 1/320
You may not have needed a tripod for speeds down to 1/250, or even 1/125 if you have a steady hand. two "maybe's" on 1/125.

Sorry if I misinterpreted the bowed back appearing dog in the photos, but that was my impression

I deserted my two Nikons (D80 and D7000) for a G9 specifically for the in camera focus stacking (known as "Post Focus"). I got many other features, like 5 axis stabilization, High Dynamic, iDynamic, and so many more I will never be able to learn them. Download the Lumix G9 342 page manual for details.

I'm sure Photoshop is great. I used to use it years ago, but it was very complicated. If I used it daily, I could have probably remembered how to do what I wanted, but for occasional use I had to relearn way too often.

I got a Lumix G9 mirrorless camera a couple of years ago specifically to take focus stacked photos of my very large (50 x 75 foot) model railroad--with 60 foot long benches I could not get both ends in focus . Shooting through the steel building walls was not possible, of course, so I had to shoot from the end of a bench which was only 8-10 feet from the camera.

The G9 has a "Post Focus" setting that takes a 30 frame video about 1 second long, and then touching about 3 "buttons" on the touch screen assembles the 30 "shots" into a focus stacked image. The process takes maybe 30 seconds, but always works, unless I did not hold the camera steady. If so, it signals a error, and cannot it complete the process, so I have to shoot over. The only time I have trouble holding it steady is if I try to lean over and hold the camera in an awkward position. Both the camera and the kit Leica lens are stabilized, so it is not hard to hand hold if for the 1 second if I have a stable stance.

Best of all I can remember how to 1) set the function to "Post Focus," 2) shoot, 3) push the "buttons" on the back screen in the order they appear, and 4) wait until the stacked photo appears. Then I enlarge the back screen image to 4x or 5x and examine couple of the corners for focus. I have not had to go back to the manual once.

I use Luminar 3 for all adjustments, and it is clear and simple to use. I have not gone to Luminar 4, because it does not have layers. I am sure that Photoshop is much more powerful, but Luminar easily does all I can imagine a photo needs, and it is very easy to use, and not too expensive.

But there is a significant investment, but if you are thinking of getting a mirrorless...

Beautiful shots all, but star trails visible in even 30 sec exposures with 15mm lens. Still beautiful, and worth keeping.

Yes, Luminar Neo. That was obvious. But where is the plugin or a YouTube or other link?

Did I miss an earlier post about where this "Electric Wires Gone" plugin can be found? I'm interested, if I can find it.
